After an eye-opening discussion with Lady Poppy, I decided I should visit House Elwynd's feast to see for myself if my prejudices about Thrax were well-founded. What I found surprised me. I did not see any slaves, nor particular glorification of bloodshed. Instead, I simply found normal people feasting. Lady Medeia in particular surprised me with her kindness when I profoundly bungled my introduction to Lady Svoli.

Relationship Note on Ilira
Miss Ilira Whisper invited me to visit the Whisper House Aviary today after I had offered to cure her ailment. Where others might feel peace there, though, I felt artifice. The prevailing struggle against predation that pervades nature was absent, and my feelings about that absence surprised me.

Relationship Note on Mirari
Miss Mirari Corsetina gave some clothing away today. Her amethyst outfit caught my eye. Should I need to dress to fit in with the southerners, it will suit me well. It was generous of Miss Mirari to give these lovely things away.

Since I returned, I have been finding it hard to sleep, the noise of the city so foreign and strange to me. I think I might need to get some whiskey to help assist with these sleepless nights.

I have been away for a while from Arx, having felt restless and uneasy. And now I have returned again, having felt the need to be with my family, to help support and assist them, however I can.

I've returned after a long absence and a time of self reflection. So much seems changed, and yet so much is exactly as I recall. Perhaps it is not my home that has changed, but rather me. It will take some time yet for me to fully take up the remnants of my old life, but I feel confident I will find a place here. As I told Cybele, from teacher, to student, in an ever-changing spiral. But I am getting ahead of myself. I met one of the Shaman today, one Cybele. They seem much more outgoing than I think I could ever be. And yet there is a warmth about them, too, like the warmth of good drink, or a harthfire. I feel there is much I may learn from them, and perhaps help I might offer them as well.

I went to a spring renewal ceremony recently led by Shaman Princess Freja. And this time, I went purely as a participant and not as one who would help lead or tend to the others. A novel experience, for someone who generally tries to live her life in service. It was (as intended), quite cathartic. There is much to be said for giving oneself entirely to the experience.

Arx is crowded. I feel hemmed in on all sides from the moment I exit the building where I am housed, until I have traveled far enough into the woods that I can no longer see the walls. Only then am I able to breathe again. But I have met some of the others who owe their fealty to Redrain, and I am comforted by the fact that they seem to share a similar set of mind as those of Ravenseye.
