Like a candle, she lived with a forced smile,
She laughed sweetly and wept bitterly.
She was burning through the fire of separation,
Neither smoke, nor fire could be seen in her.
Outwardly she lamented like the wind,
Inwardly she consumed her heart like the earth.

Translated from the Eurusi. It's a beautiful piece.

More... Well. I cannot truthfully call this volume smut. It actually has... plot. And some history thrown in. But yet another pen name with dubious authenticity. Who names their child 'Malvolo Stoutrod'?

I mean, really.

You told me to write.

I have not stopped since.

So many new authors.

So much smut.

Well. At least it's interesting reading. A new author has asked me to sell their works for them, with the agreement that most of the money, like all books sold in my shop, goes to the scholars.

I found A. Pearldiddlers 'Taking Tea and A, a Grayson Grind For All' to be... awkwardly entertaining. Next up is 'Eating Clam, a ravenous Redrain romance'.

And at least it stars no real people and no one is mocked.

I find that to write salacious or lewd material about people who are unaware of being written about... is in poor taste. And this is to put it in very polite terms.

While knowledge and history are sacred, and I value the place satire has in the political realm, and I cannot deny the elegance of good erotica, I cannot necessarily agree that wish-fulfillment and smut that features characters that are clearly supposed to be people of note, holds any such honored distinction.

Please do not peddle flesh fantasy, when it is not with the knowledge and consent of those who it is written about.

The Griffon and the Serpent
Were fighting for the crown
The Serpent beat the Griffon,
All around Arx’en town.

Some gave them white bread,
And some gave them brown.
Some gave went hungry and unfed,
And withered to just bone and frown.

The sly little Fox, came upon the pair,
he bit at the Serpent and turned the fight,
The Serpent so surrounded, shouted 'unfair'!
But in the end, Griffon ruled the night.

I am very pleased. My efforts to raise money for the scholars and scribes of Vellichor with the bookshoppe have been very successful. I have transferred a great sum of money to the Archscholar for use as the Faith requires, funded a reorganization and expansion of the reading room, and now, continue to find volumes for the library. I have even managed to build myself a small office and sleeping area above the store. Beyond this, the faith meets all my needs.

The only profit I require is the enrichment of minds.

I do need a tutor for the Eurusi language, if anyone feels moved to teach.

We took ship to the fantastic Island Shore,
Counting myth and beast to keep score.
The pretty Mermaid, her breasts so bare,
Was combing out her golden flowing hair.
The Kraken came up on deck,
And slid round the dragons neck.
The Dragon sneezed - Achoo!
And fell on his knees,
And what became of the Kraken;
Leviathan from the depths she came,
And then the game was never the same.

A wise old owl lived in an oak.
The more he saw the less he spoke.
The less he spoke the more he heard.
Why can't we all be like that wise old bird?

The reference shelf in the Writ and Binding is absolutely open to all to use for their studies. However, if you add your own volume to this resource, please speak with me so I can make sure the book is properly attributed and categorized.

Even if you do not wish this information made public, I would very much like it for my own records.

That said, the 'THE CURSE OF CALAZZO' is thus far entertaining, and I look forward to the next installment.

On his death-bed poor Lubin lies:
His spouse is in despair:
With frequent sobs, and mutual cries,
They both express their care.

A different cause, says Legate Sly,
The same effect may give:
Poor Lubin fears that he may die;
His wife, that he may live.

** This entry is not text, but rather, a drawing **

This simple-seeming greyscale charcoal sketch is actually layered with detail and nuance, once you get beyond the first level. A bar scene, it shows shadowy figures all around, with only a few given any attention. Swirling about them all is a mist that seems to flow and thicken around people of import while thinning near people who are less so influential.

At the center of this web of flowing pulse, is Audric. The attention of many seems to be on him, and the mist swirls darkly around him. Another so touched is Princess Serafine, as many pay her heed and attention. Others, such as Ferrando and Eithne show lighter levels of connection, but their images are clear enough for picking out of the sketch without problem. Julea and Jeremiah are also present, as are Cedarav and Leta, to varying degrees of detail.
