The Scared Black Dog (Who Bit His Own Tail Off)

The scared black dog played at courage, roaming around in places that were familiar to him. He barked noble phrases in his mind like, “I’m doing it to protect you,” and, “this is for the greater good,” hiding the truth from his own tail which wagged happily behind him, unaware of the Fear.

But you can’t hide from Fear forever.

Watching two Silks settle whose coin purse was bigger was a remarkably disgusting display. With all that excess silver they ought to hire someone to think for them.

I don't know shite about song lyrics though at this rate I'll be writing bawdy limericks in the streets for food before long. I better start thinking of words that rhyme with 'fuck'. Gods, how depressing.

They say a fool and their silver are soon parted. I've seen too many fools with bloated pockets traipsing around the Lowers like it's a fairground, the folk who live and work there alive solely for their self-important indulgence, to believe that's true.
