I've taken on several new students. I say "students", though these are hardly school children. Duchesses and Counts and Lords and Ladies of all manner. It is quite a delight, and I remain pleased with my choice to be here, in Arx, as a Whisper. All the while I continue to work for His Majesty - planning for the Tournament of Roses continues, albeit slowly. I am hoping to announce more in the coming weeks.

As a reminder to any that may read this, I am serving as Royal Events Coordinator. If anyone has any ideas for events they wish the Crown to sponsor, please contact me.

Whisper House hosted an introductory course to ballroom dancing last night, right in the Elysian Ballroom. With music provided by the Bard's College and hors d'oeuvre and wine provided by Whisper House, it was a decidedly well appointed affair. About half the attendees were somewhat seasoned dancers, which was just perfect, as they made fine partners for those that hadn't danced before. The real performance of the night was Princess Nuala Redrain, who looked simply majestic. Though I'll have to note Sir Jeffeth was her partner, and he surely helped.

Thanks one and all for attending. We will be having dancing lessons again, and in the meanwhile, should anyone wish private lessons they ought to contact Whisper House.

Last evening Baron Norwood and I hosted a celebration (graciously funded by Duke Cristoph) to celebrate the man's entry into the peerage. It was a Very Serious Bath Party, and everyone took things Very Seriously. Especially four women: Lady Lisebet Farshaw, Lady Rosalie Redtyde, Lady Amari Keaton, and Goodwoman Rowenova the Scout. These four suffered many a terrible joke, all manner of jest, and a cannonball done by Lord Alessandro all but on top of Lady Amari's head. It was Lord Giulio's second joke that broke all of them all. In honor of Vellichor, I record that joke here. Please note, it was told far better by the lord of house Mazetti than I could possibly ever imagine.

"My former armsmaster was a lovely fellow. I was mostly interested in his tracking and all that. But, there was this time I do recall. Where he said, 'Now, I want all of you to be prepared for tomorrow's lessons. The only excuse I will allow is either the death of a close member of the family. Or a certification of illness -- from two members of the physician's guild.'

"One fellow then said, 'Does extreme sexual exhaustion count?' The armsmaster looked at the young man quellingly and said, 'No. You can still parry with your other hand.'"

Thank you all who were able to tend. Congratulations, Baron Norwood!

I am ever so excited to have the Tournament of Roses officially announced! Preparations will begin immediately, and I am positive it will be a major success. Of course, I would be a liar if I did not put to paper my nervous excitement. An event so large, it will surely be a challenge! And for any that read this who were interested in helping, I'll need a few more weeks before I have any ability to make use of volunteers.

I am happy to report the Royal Snowball Fight - my first event as Royal Event Coordinator - was a smashing success! While many seemed more than happy to sip warm drinks and nibble on sweet rolls, there were a good many that were ready to battle. Princess Tikva, Deputy Crown Minister of Youth and Families, was captain of one team. Dame Felicia of the King's Own was captain of the other. Princess Tikva's team claimed victory, but not without a lot of snow flying every which way, and many hits on either side.

Now I need to set my mind to planning the next royal event. If anyone has any ideas, do please send them my way!

There's so much to be written, so much to be reflected upon, so many words that I could spread with this ink. But, instead of all that has been happening of late, I'll focus on something smaller. I've had a few successful client-students begin lessons with me at Whisper House. Getting back to this work, to that which I was raised to do, is to very rewarding. I thank the Gods for this opportunity.
