The real reason I don't often go to the Grotto is that it's very difficult not to walk by a bath, see someone stand up to bow or curtsy, then see everyone else in the bath stand up to do so because the first person did, then see everyone else in the other baths stand up to do so because the first bath did, and not feel like you've needlessly disrupted far too many people's personal relaxation time. I imagine that's like walking into a nursery and intentionally making loud noises to wake up all the babies; it feels morally incorrect on a deeply fundamental level.
That said, their wine selection is delightful and the indoor gardens are a wonderful way to recapture a bit of spring until the real one comes along, so I can't say I've never dropped in on a cold winter's day to warm up on the way from the Palace to the Bank or vice versa.

Very impressed with the work Count Kael, Countess Reigna, and Whisper Natalia have put into establishing the Academy of War here in the Crown Ward. The Compact will surely benefit from the sharpened minds and wits from those who take its instruction. Perhaps I'll even be able to find the time to hold a guest lecture of my own on a subject like diplomacy.

I don't mind confessing to the world that I really want one of those tactical battle tables of Duchess Calypso's with the representational scale and elevation of Arvum now that I've finally had the pleasure to properly experience the Malvici Hall War Room in all its glory.

As always, my latest visit to Keaton Hall was rewarded with a splendid affair indeed. Had some very delightful conversations with old and new faces alike, and apparently the Palace Stables will have one more goat thanks to Dame Felicia's particular brand of animal magnetism. I was very proud to attend the ceremonial launching of the Carlotta today. The Lyceum's effort in bringing this naval technology to the Compact is deserving of every plaudit and appreciation they receive. I am tasking the Ministry of War to see about spreading these designs and knowledge across every House and working with all the navies of the Compact to refine and develop these ships further. Our great alliance should see the benefits in improved trade and security from these new Lenosia-class caravels in the coming years.
