As an unmarried woman of a certain age myself, it really bothers me when people think they can comment one a woman's age in any capacity at all, but the too old to be marriageable one is certainly one of my least favorites.
Marriage is a huge responsibility, especially for us nobles, since those marriages often come with agreements that are far bigger than two people. It's important that it's the right match between the right two people, to make sure the bonds of the partnership holds.
So please forgive us "older" women our discretion when it comes to tying ourselves irrecovably to someone for the rest of our lives. We're certainly not going to settle for anything less at this point, we deserve better.

With the arrival of Lady Elora into our family, we also welcomed her children. I can't remember when Ravnsholm has ever felt so full of life and people. I love it. I really do. Not enough to want to add to the flock of children. I will leave that to my brother and new sister-in-law, in their own time. But, if I'm being honest, I'm really enjoying being able to watch the next generation grow and figure themselves out.

Things have been busy, and I have promised to come out of Ravnsholm if just for a bit. Other then that my time is mainly spent answering messengers along with reading through old books. Primarily while Runa SQUAWKS loudly...... Help me scholar.

Well I didn't die... And I gained a pretty damn cool scar in the process. It's better then a missing limb? Rosalind will be happy and probably jumping for joy that I didn't die, so she doesn't have to lead House Ravenseye....

Books.. piles and piles of books. That's all I've seen as of late. My eyes burn and I probably should rest. But I really need to find out more. Bryndis brings me whiskey from time to time. I'm usually slumped over a book I've been searching through.

I ponder on a lot of things as of late scholar. Am I leading my house in the right direction? Would my mother be proud of me? Even though I never really met her.... I guess one shouldn't dwell on the past, lest the present pass them by before they know it.

Scholar, sometimes I want to strangle my bird and other times I love Runa to death. This morning....it's a fine balance between both. There was a raven feather plastered to my face and I swear at some point in the middle of the night I pftt out a feather in my mouth... I love my mischievous little friend, it's a love hate relationship. I think I may need to take some lessons in how to care for her better. Perhaps find some things to keep her busy.

I had an absolute grand time at a musical impromptu session at the Aboreal Enclosure last night before heading to bed. Though I oft wondered when the tree house was going to break with all the people in it. Perhaps we need to make this a monthly thing. A little more cheerfulness together with others wouldn't be so bad, especially if it involves drinking scholar.

Storm Brew has a nice ring to it, don't you think scholar... Gonna be one of the best brews in all of Arx.... well, if I can get someone to do it for me. The Brewing for dummies book still doesn't help and I wouldn't trust myself to be in a 10 foot radius of anything alcohol... Drinking maybe, making it? Well one will have to find out.

The Heart in Hand charity mixer was nice. I wore a dress. Rescued a princess. Won the raffle.
I can see the appeal of dresses. Maybe not pink ones. But I can still walk a balance beam in one.

Been back in the city a while now but haven't made it here to the Archive to record anything of note. Too much else going on. It was good of my father and Carrick to follow me back from Stormheart. Soon as I got here the letters started arriving about some troubles to tend to. It's Rosa's turn to go handle things in the county, I think.
My focus has been on building relationships with other houses. And learning more about the finer points of being a leader within the Compact. Neither of those things were accomplished when I attempted to run the Telmar gauntlet. Don't talk to me about hurdles. Charity. Talk to me about charity. I've been working with Duchess Isabeau and Princess Jerrica and Duke Malcolm on things for the Heart in Hand. We have a public gathering coming up. Should be a chance to meet likeminded folk.
