Relationship Note on Zakhar
I was looking up some things in the Stacks as I am wont to do from time to time. I cam across Lady Medeia's journal where she spoke of Master Zakhar's death.
I had wondered why I was being gifted these items all of a sudden only with a simple note of it being a raffle and my name had been pulled out in the drawing. This man was a creative soul. I remember the first time I met him. Lord Pasquale encouraged me to go see him after I couldn't solve one of the puzzles that Pasquale had fun showing me. I found the man charming with his chickens and his kittens. But frightening at the same time. I remember being cautious and on the fence when he pulled out his Blood of Thy Enemies necklace in Golden Hart. Now? I own it.
It is strange in how people impact you and you don't realize it until they are gone. The few conversations we did have he always challenged me. He had a rich history. I realize a lot of people probably thought he was off his rocker or a true warrior or both. I mean who is going to have a tea party in the middle of a skirmish? Why Master Zakhar of course. I will miss him but I will also remember him and the impact he had on me and my life here on this side of the wheel.

Relationship Note on Zakhar
He's a bloody genius of an artist. The Physicians Guild now has a carved anatomical doll for lecture and review purposes. Much cleaner than dissecting pigs for an idea of what's inside. My children, proving they're MY CHILDREN, want to play with it and stab it with their toy swords, then 'sew' it back up. Maybe I'll commission a second one for them as a midwinter gift.

Relationship Note on Zakhar
A couple of days ago, Zakhar had me over. He's teaching me to cook one of his soups. There's something about his food, and I asked him if he'd teach me how to cook something warm and comforting that I can make when I'm visiting or staying with folks who are dying. Something to make those last few days a bit nicer. Something to talk over or just bring a smile.
I doubt mine will ever taste as good as his. The butchering alone. He says it's better to do it yourself, but that'll have to be the first of a few compromises to my version of things.

Relationship Note on Zakhar
I stopped by to see my friend, Zakhar, one of the most talented artisans I have ever met. He has done many beautiful works for me and has always kept my vision in mind, my thoughts, and the spirit of how I feel, when creating pieces from beautiful pieces of jewelry to well-crafted furniture, and now I find myself in possession of another beautiful piece designed and created by him. The Dancing River Dragon. It is unique and beautiful and another example of his talent. It is only sad that our city believes because of where he comes from, that he would betray our city, when I know for certain, he never would. He has always been here for the Charon House, and I have no reason to believe otherwise.

Relationship Note on Zakhar
I have taken it upon myself to renovate some of the rooms in the Laurent mansion and have decided to get new furniture. After the beautiful clavichord he has constructed for me, I set my mind and quill toward Master Zakhar at the Emporium of Curiousity and I was not disappointed.
Beautiful craftsmanship unlike any other, tailored specifically to what I required. Elegant yet decorative and impressive.
I am grateful for all the artisans of the city, such abundance, such talent, such joy.

As the renovations of the mansion continue, I finally own a clavichord.
Constructed by the ever talented Zakhar, it is adorned with floral engravings and a lovely honeysilk seat.
Positioned in the solarium, I expect many melody filled nights will be spent watching the line where the starry night meets the lights of the city.

I met a very curious man. a Man that has seen many years of strife, of vengeful tides and the madness that creeps upon the world. I see him, I see me there within the light of his eyes that tumble away into the dark of madness from loss and grief unbearable by most. How long can someone hold the madness behind the iron will of the walls he has raised in his mind. What is beyond those defenses he has erected and what horrors await us all beyond the walls of Arx? If I live, will this man be what I become? Is it really that bad to consider, at least he still lives where many faces I will never see again.

Went reaving with Eswynd. Lovely, top marks, would reave again. Did you know Zakhar fought the enemy with a cast-iron frying pan? Of course we have to have a song about it.
He's cooking his breakfast up on that deck
He got that cast iron out when the day began
You mess with the sausages and you risk your neck
You better not fuck with the man with the pan
You pull your ship up there all quick and direct
Drawing those swords like you think you can
But here's a weapon that you didn't expect
You better not fuck with the man with the pan
He's swinging that thing and he's making you pay
There's no escape now even if you ran
You got no defense against the cookware melee

there's something to be said for an autumn sky and a beach to stand upon; when you gave me your keepsake and I gave you my answer. How young I feel when I see it. It cracks the shell of this old muscle, and reveals its shiny pearl. Not of white, or black or brown, not of silver hue. It reveals a precious blue; one of a kind, colored like the sky. It whispers of the sea. It whispers there is a child here still, and tells me you still have managed to find something unique. So I give my answer, and you suffer for it gratefully. Like the waves give their rumbles as they meet the shore, my answer will continue to be always yes. You've found your pearl of blue; a one of a kind. It continues to be yours until the sea becomes a mirror for the sun, and the waves no longer rise within their boundaries.

Zakhar's designs are beautiful, definitely a talented crafter, who I look forward to purchasing new pieces from over time. So far I have been able to have a chained bookcase and wardrobe built by him. And I could not be happier with his skill.
