Relationship Note on Teagan

The large warrior has quite the appetite. And the little bride. I think a great match is made!

Just..don't get married in the forest outside of Arx.

Relationship Note on Teagan

I have taken a page by the name of Cithria. She says she is from Cloudspine but seems reluctant to speak as to what brought her to Arx, and what left her in the orphanage.

Relationship Note on Teagan

I am delighted by the Direhorns - and am glad Dame Flora and the others could help. They should certainly help hold those mountain passes in your land. And well, they are - I am sure - adorable in their own way. We will have to probably get a sturdy stone enclosure for the ones sent to us however....

Relationship Note on Teagan

Please, sister. You need to be able to shake a finger at someone at least once a week or you start getting the shakes, it's a sorry sight!

Fear not, I shall never abandon you to such a terrible malady.

Can you even imagine a life without waking up to confront my latest blundering? /Gods forbid./

Do not let your fear cloud your vision. Our fate is ours to choose, if we are vigilant.

The best part of this season are the stews, but I also enjoy the desserts.

I, too, enjoy making complete non-sequiturs.

Relationship Note on Teagan

As it happens, I did not realize that anyone was ascribing a temper tantrum to me, as I was under the impression that the Peerage of Arx was quite familiar with what it looks like when my temper is engaged. But since Lady Teagan has decided to make her direction towards me so plain, I do wonder at why.

Voices of the Peerage should know better than to challenge the Faith for literally no reason. Especially Voices in the Oathlands. What a regrettably foolish choice to so publicly insist upon.

But this is what you have done, and so what I shall say is this:

I have far, far more important work to do than to puzzle out what possible objection Lady Teagan has to anything I have written, and so I shall carry on with it while she publicly brands herself regrettably foolish.

Relationship Note on Teagan

It is a funny thing to say that all we can do is honor the Faith in the same paragraph where one dismisses the words of a legate of the Faith as a temper tantrum.

Relationship Note on Teagan

Strangely, Lady Teagan, I have never found you lacking in faith. When the cultists around the woman calling herself the Reaper came to your attention, and her use of a known artifact the heretics claim have power, came to your attention, you came to the Templars. You thought others would help you. You were right. You placed your trust in others. You placed the safety of that thing you hold most dear, your people, with others. You had faith that others would be good. That they would care for your people as you do.

You have people you trust implicitly, I do not know how you could do that without faith. And even when things are bad, your first concern is always for others.

Relationship Note on Teagan

Lady Teagan Blackram does me a great honor with the kind words she has written in the whites. Sometimes I am wrong with that faith in people thing, but not all that often. That's okay, though, because maybe there has been a time or two when I was the only one who had that faith and it made a difference.

I have thought about the Faith, with the capital, a lot lately. Having spent time with the Templars a couple of times over the last several months has given me an insight I didn't really have before. Ah, but to become Godsworn won't ever be a path for me, not after having been knighted by Prince Edain for my services to House Valardin. As well, I hope I honor all the Gods properly, but my devotion to Jayus and my love of crafting is hardly a secret.

I suspect it is sincerely by the grace of all the Gods (and no small amount of luck) that I am still breathing and able to write this. Knowing that, I think I would take such a risk again if asked because it is important to do so. It is important to have faith.

Relationship Note on Teagan

Teagan, You ask how one would trust someone who speaks support of something in public and then turns around to support the opposing side.

My answer depends on the person who is doing this. I consider their age and their breadth and depth of knowledge. If the person is just learning about a topic, perhaps they have not considered all of the aspects of it. As they engage with others, they will learn of more perspectives that they have not considered.

I consider myself. I don't have as much as experience as most in sussing out big ideas. When I try to understand things I feel like I have whiplash sometime. For example, with this issue of thralldom: why did I never think about what it means to be executed instead of put in thralldom? The other day the high inquisitor brought this to our attention in the whites. I have not changed my position, and I'm not sure I will, but now I have this to mull over. Maybe one day I will support an opposing view in public, though today is not that day. At my core being, I do not want others to suffer in thralldom. What does that mean? Now I am faced with many questions. Another: what does it mean to exile a person versus execute them directly?

I hope to always remain trustworthy.

Relationship Note on Teagan

I'm thrilled to see what meets the exacting standards of my sister when it comes to romance novels. She's a true literati, that one, so...

Steamy bodice-rippers? Epic sagas? Collections of crude limericks? Let's see it, Tea!

(...Now that the Library's been renovated, I'm sure I'll find all three, especially the last in great abundance knowing /my/ bloody family. Love you all!!)
