Relationship Note on Seth
I awoke this morning to Atramentous having passed in his sleep. He was such an old hound and I remember when Seth gifted him to me for my birthday so many years ago. It was one of the best gifts that I received from Lord Steelhart. Though I wish he were still alive to see how they hounds grew. And for him to see that Cale was found and has been given a good life. I fear that he will soon pass, but I can't dwell on that. I am glad that Atra's last night was spent in the gardens and then in his favorite sleeping spot near the fire. He will be missed so much.

Cale has grown from the lanky puppy that used to follow you around to a very handsome hound. I wish you were here to see him.

I never thought you were a bright lad, but I never thought you meant ill will towards anyone.
I still remember you offering to assist my Redwoods with war hounds, I had meant to follow up on that offer before you left town. A pity now, it'd be a thing if I gotten the last of their kind. But whatever you did and the burdens you beat yourself up by carrying, lad. You didn't deserve what happened to you and your family.
I hope when they track down the bastards that did this to your family they have the same mind as me. They don't deserve to go quickly. That would be all too easy. You deserve that much in retribution at least.

Lord Steelhart is fast becoming a friend and I adore his presence as well as his hounds. Tonight though I feel as though I pushed a bit too much and caused some anxiety. So I will make it up to him.

Relationship Note on Seth
Seth tried to take Lydia, Frederik's late wife (and not the Nightgold woman) and Sara hostage. While Lydia handily beat the boy down, Frederik forgave but never forgot Seth's treachery. Frederik sees his slaying as Padraig as setting the score with the boy, but there will always be tension, and if there was any trust before? There never will be now.
