I heard about what transpired at the Assembly of Peers. I think it would be more prudent to wonder what Lord Marco Eufrasio gains by inciting a potential war between the Lyceum and the Oathlanders, with the way I heard he kept turning toward them at each question he instigated. Why would he turn to the Oathlanders for a matter of concern in the Lyceum except to incite a war between both fealties? Knowing there's been a fair few feuds between the two fealties over history. Especially during a time when civilization is potentially in jeopardy?

Thoughts of reflecting upon my anger...
I was angry. I was ready to quit pursuing being a knight. I was ready to scream.... and I did, at Lord Romulius. I screamed, I debased myself, I called the Peerage and myself, many words I cannot repeat, for I know they came from the burning sense of failure that I let my people down... I led them into a war where they died and were left to die. Against the advice of my Peers, the generals, who seemed to have some notion of what was going to happen, I demanded the forces of Amadeo help our allies and settle in Tremorus for the impending attack.
He listened to me rage and weep until I had nothing left inside... But then he gave me words of wisdom.
I won't quit the Order of East Light... not day. For this man alone.

The seas and sands of our world have tried to take you from me twice, now, and much of what I remember through each insufferable instance was the wait. The slow, interminable march of time and the passage of the days as I waited for someone to meet my challenge to personally deliver your bones to me in the first, or for your eyes to open in the second.
Now that war has reached our shores, and the guaranteed launch of you and your loyal and stalwart men to fight against it imminent, I wonder if the old adage is true in that the third time is the charm. That witnessing your return from yet another set of seemingly insurmountable odds would cement the idea in my mind, finally, that there is absolutely nothing that will prevent you from finding your way back to where you are needed and want to be.
And much like what I have done in these aforementioned moments in our long history, I will wait.
I will always wait for you.

When we were children, the summers were for cherry picking in New Hope, in the rare opportunities in which Uncle had allowed me to visit your family's estates instead of the other way around. You never allowed me to climb up the boughs of your family's trees; you always insisted on taking on the labor yourself, citing some new excuse every time I tried to insist - my dress would be ruined, or I would get bruised or scratched if I had never done it before, or if I was not careful.
Now that these are planted and situated where they need to be, I realized that I cannot recall whether the varieties grown in Blackshore are tart or sweet.
I am looking forward to the Summer so I could refresh my memory.

Until the last week, we have never spent over a day furious with one another. I am grateful that two decades of familiarity and friendship have come with the unspoken reassurance that no matter what happens between us, we will always find our footing, somehow, and develop a better understanding of one another.

You become more and more popular everyday. I wonder if I missed an opportunity not throwing my name out for a political match when it was prompted, however I was not in the place to love, or accept love at that time. I'm a late bloomer. That being said I feel a blooming friendship as we work together and a particular closeness. I think we have amazing alchemy when we work together and I truly enjoy the partnership that we have developed.

Polishing
Smoothing
Once the ocean grabs ahold
the unforgiving tide
molds and shifts pieces ashore
home again once more.
Sometimes for better
these gems of the sea
gleaming in the waves
of adversity.
Slipping sideways
Rolling under
the waves of thunder
Reeving, Reeping, Roaring

Sleeping, Creeping,
Beauty Amore
Peacefully accepting
Finally resting
