Never in my life have I been accused of refusing a challenge. This is certainly a first.

They are most plentiful!

Than I shall look forward to sampling the wine! I wish I could've seen the dinner, it sounded like it was a wonderful time, or at the very least entertaining. Save a seat for me sometime and I would love to drink some of your wine, and next time you can drink some of mine.

Though if your selection truly impresses me, it shall receive a permanent place on my rack.

Thank you for giving a prime example on how an opinion can very much be incorrect.

No, an opinion is not a statement of fact.
Yes, an opinion can be objectively incorrect.

Also, not to be constrained or haughty, but... An opinion can be misguided, but no... what? I have been unable to stop wondering what the rest of that thought was.

That is a deeply flawed statement. Opinions can be objectively wrong or right. I can say I have an opinion that oranges are green. That would be wrong. Am I entitled to that opinion? Certainly. Is it wrong? Unquestioningly. Facts are facts. There seems to be an idea that just because someone believes a thing, they cannot possibly be wrong. As if opinion and fact are interchangeable. They are not.

And for what it is worth? The act of following orders, does not a soldier make. I follow orders. I am *not* a soldier. I issue commands. Am I a commander? Enh. No. There is a difference. A soldier is a fighter, someone who works within a hierarchy of command, within units, is a member of an army. That is what a solider *is*. If you are instead asking what makes a *good* soldier, that opens the floor to a far deeper field of potential answers in which matters of opinion are entirely valid (if potentially wrong).

Actually, my dear, what you -declared- was that all 'non-merchant vessels' NOT associated with the Empyrean Trade Route clear the waters around Ischia. That includes personal vessels, fishing boats, military craft. Anything not a merchant is far more than 'just military'. And again, you did so without explanation or warning. And now you accuse your lieges of treason against the Compact as well. This is getting better and better. Its hard for people to step forward to be cleansed of accusation that they didn't know was happening in the first place. But I suppose that would get in the way of your witch hunt.

It would be my advisement for both you, and the Duchess to sit down like mature adults and consider the situation. It would be an absolute shame for the Duchess to lose a loyal vassal simply because she failed to provide you the proper courtesy of investigating the situation. It is never a pleasant situation where a liege holds their title over your head, and threatens to revoke your claim to title, especially when you only have the best interests of your land in mind.

And lets not forget that this is after you've neglected to inform your liege of increased pirate activity in the area, or afforded them the opportunity to extend the aid of martial support -as the oaths between liege and vassal demand-. House Seraceni has instead been quiet, sullen, and now declaring martial law in our fealty with no prior warning or notification. You have all but declared war against your liege and insist that I am at fault.

Cousin.

I am curious as to what you have discovered on the matter of Protege's and Patrons. I myself am considering the attempt at finding a protege but your words have made me second guess things that seemed plain before. What would I bring to benefit my protege beyond connection to me? What is that even worth to begin with, being so new to Arx? While it would very much benefit me if I did find one that complemented my skills well, the only thing I could offer is protection. Is that enough in a city that has the Iron Guard attending to it?

I do not know.

Something to think about further certainly.

Relationship Note on Prisila

I find Lady Prisila to be quite a charming woman. It just so happened that I was available to speak with her about Seraceni trade opportunities. I was mostly curious for my own artistic wants, for the fashion and some of the accessories are quite stunning from Ischia. I especially like some of the volcanic glass carvings I've seen. I do look forward to using it in some of my future creations.

Relationship Note on Prisila

One of these days, I'm going to have to make sure we do visit that island of yours. The two of us alone together in paradise? I can hardly imagine a better way to spend a holiday away from everything. It's rare that I find somebody that I forge so instantly of a connection with, but I think we've found that here. Friends are hard to find out here in Arx, and I hope that is what I've found in you.
