Relationship Note on Porter

While times have removed our social activities from each other, it has never once removed him from my heart. He has been and will forever remain my favorite chariot ride around the city on our first meeting. For a while, he was a constant friend and I adore every memory that has ever been made. I even got my most sacred of answers and callings at his event.

This said. I have heard the most horrid tale that his person might be in a form of danger. I do not believe a person could think such harsh things about the man. He has his own brand of humor sometimes, but his heart is well. We should only be judged for our hearts and our duty. I would have it known that if I need to talk to someone to convince them of his valor; I would be more than willing.

Failing that. I have never shied away from offering my sword when it was needed.

Relationship Note on Porter

I consider Porter Kennex to be both a surprisingly driven subordinate and a personal friend. In him, the grace of Gild is as a balm to the spirit: industry, energy, charity, generosity.

He is a brother of the Faith and the Voice of Gild.

I strongly suggest that, if anyone was thinking of doing anything to him, they reconsider this course before they find that the righteous wroth of the Faith can freely accommodate more than one target.

Relationship Note on Porter

He is a good man. Hits like a runaway cart. Laughs loudly, enjoys the world around him. This Knight is a good sort. I hope to get him more in my time here, maybe even call him a friend. I have few of those, that I allow myself to have.

Relationship Note on Porter

Sir Porter Kennex of the Knights of Solace was an appreciated meeting upon my visit of the Great Cathedral. The meeting was a positive one and it was a good opportunity to talk of various things, and learn more in the process.

I can only hope all future meetings of strangers will be as pleasant.

I wasn't looking for a student but I had heard about your basic attempts at armoring and couldn't help but cringe. I'm glad we got the chance to chat over a pint or two. So now it seems we'll both be venturing into unknown territory. Cheers to us both!

As a mediocre smith myself in years gone by, I can safely say that the Compact always has need of nails and cookware.

Relationship Note on Porter

I am sometimes quite humbled by the trust Sir Preston has in me. The siege yard at the Templars compound is beautiful - in a way, perhaps, one with a love of smithing and building things might see. Sir Porter and I did a bit of show-and-tell with one of the trebuchets, which I promise was wholly for training. Bags of hay were flung around the courtyard while the flow of motion such a machine utilizes was studied. Sir Porter put me to shame with his ability to successfully hit the target and I wonder if he's just a natural at it. I'm sure some close to him might have thoughts! But more truly, it was a good session, along with some general instruction in smithing itself.

Rigby seems unsure about the Knight of Solace, and sometimes gives me one of his famed long-suffered looks when Sir Porter is at the shop to make nails. Not all that unexpected from Rigby, though, and it amuses me. I hope to help with the rebuilding of the Cathedral as well - moving rubble out, hopefully helping with the actual brick and mortar, as they say. And nails. If it weren't so dangerous, I bet we could make snow-seraphs in the piles of nails we're going to probably create.

Sir Porter, I look forward to being put on my back more often, if it means being able to laugh with you.
A good spar to bring my spirits back up in these cold and dark days of unknown certainties.

We do! A particularly determined and fierce one, too. Who knew being a giant could be so invigorating?

(By 'fierce', I mean fiercely helpful, of course.)

That sounds like a wonderful idea for a children's tale, "Knight Porter and his Beard" and it can be a teaching story on cleanliness.

I would like to personally thank the maker of silly hats for bringing this man into my life.

I would also like to thank the forces which guided him toward taking his vows to the Faith, and for attaching his life to Solace.

I should probably also thank his parents for giving him the ability to grow such a fine beard, too.

On behalf of the Silver Swords, welcome to the Silver Order, Sir Porter.

As you begin your days as a godsworn knight, I encourage you to think on the recent losses that the Knights of Solace suffered in defense of the House of Solace. Learn their names. Send messages to their families. And become comfortable with sacrificing yourself if duty called upon you to do it.

Relationship Note on Porter

While I know Sir Porter only a little, in our brief acquaintance he has struck me as a man of great might, boldness, and merriment. I had the honor to witness his vows to the Faith and Knights of the Solace and it heartens me to see one such as this take up the sword for such a cause. All knights seem the better to have him among our number.
