Relationship Note on Poppy

Anytime I get invited to the Everwinter, it's always the easiest decision I can make. Honest.

Relationship Note on Poppy

I'm ready to start training when you are! What did you want to start with first?! Other than you know, getting you a proper pair of pants!

Relationship Note on Poppy

My dear friend Poppy! You never could run. EVER! Can I take you out with me next time I go exploring? Please please please?! Soon as the bandages are off! I don't know how you ever climbed and things. No wonder your brother had to carry you around all the time!

Relationship Note on Poppy

Lady Poppy responded to the journal by Prince Sirius Valardin better than I ever could.

I stared at his entry for a long while, pondering how to respond because I knew that I wanted to. While still trying to figure it out, Lady Poppy replied. A reply that, honestly? Warms my heart. We did not grow up in the same part of the Northlands, but her experiences mirror my own.

The people I was surrounded by as I grew were the kindest, most compassionate people I have ever met. Resilient, yes, but not just in body - in mind and in spirit too. Patient. Unshakeable. It's nice to know that despite the blistering cold, there is a warmth unlike any other to be found back North if I ever need it.

And I'll take the warmth of people over warm weather any day.

I've told you not to sing at all! It gets all...Screechy! WHY DID YOU DO THAT?! But I still love you. Really!

My suggestion is to hum the songs instead. Doesn't matter what words you're singing in your head, then!

Relationship Note on Poppy

Once upon a time...long, long ago. There was a young girl named Poppy, and she heard that there was some delicious mushrooms that grew in the frozen forest.

So she gathered her basket and went out to find these mushrooms. Only an angry bear had woken from sleep with a terrible belly ache and needed those mushrooms himself. So there was a terrifying confrontation, and Poppy climbed a tree to safety.

There she would have stayed if it wasn't for one Dagny that came by. There was an epic confrontation between woman and bear. Woman wins, bear crawls home.

Poppy gets her mushrooms and the bear's belly is the least of its worry.

Relationship Note on Poppy

Poppy recently wrote about a friend being gravely wounded and the need for the city's finest healers to tend to said friend, but then was disappointed in how said friend carried on after her life was saved.

As a healer, you never want to see your work undone. You put a lot of time and effort into your training. You worked hard to save that life. But a healer must be dispassionate. We must never be too attached to our patients because there's always the chance you're not good enough or they're too far gone. Even when our patients are our friends.

And when they decide to live their life as they see fit? We should celebrate it. You gave them this gift of ongoing life. You stopped them from meeting the Queen of Endings and extended this turn on the Wheel a little longer. Yes, it's annoying to know they're not taking your admonishes seriously (stop breaking your sutures, damn you) but it's also something to be proud of. They are choosing to let their life be lived, not be defined by their wounds and injuries and holding back. And that's in part because of your medical skills.

That said, I'm pleased Poppy's friend is recuperating. *There was an additional comment here which has been crossed out repeatedly per the Lady's request*
