Relationship Note on Petal
While there were certainly worse wounds than mine to be had when the Gyre's accursed forces made landfall at Stormwall those four and a half years ago, I will admit to a certain injury to my pride with mine. Ariel always loved my eyes, and to have lost one was terrible in ways beyond my half-blindness.
For years I have had my share of eyepatches from healers or gifts from friends, and I have also at times experimented with not concealing the result of that attack. While I have gotten more comfortable doing so, I find that it can be unsettling to others lacking rugged constitutions.
I write now to inform that I shall accept no further gifts of this nature as I have been gifted such a patch now as to put all others to shame. The Tailor Petal Penrose was commissioned to produce for me the most exquisite patch! It is positively divine in craftsmanship and design. The Sigil of Stonewood is rendered in such detail with the stitch that I marvel at the work, so delicate the embroidery! I have, so far at least, experienced no discomfort despite hardly taking it off since I received it, and it is a sad truth to eyepatches that even after all these years they seem designed only to cause headaches. Not so with this masterpiece! Already I feel my mood improved and my tolerance for reading reinvigorated.
Petal has earned her great reputation and a customer for life. You readers of the morrow, be it a single year or a hundred, if this tailor's work should be available to you do not hesitate to obtain it.

Relationship Note on Petal
I'd say I stopped by a delightful little shop yesterday, but that would be stretching the truth. It was a sprawling thing, the Tangled Skein, aptly organized and with new wonders in every room. The proprietess, one Petal (Penrose, I'd later find) was quite charming. Her accent stood out quite a bit, almost more than the bump of her belly that said she was with child. We had a lovely conversation about fabrics and fashions, before my errands regrettably forced me to cut the conversation short. Still, I've placed my order, and I shall soon have an outfit suitable for Arx winters.

Relationship Note on Petal
Mistress Petal recently accepted a commission for me and the work she did was exemplary. This gyrfalcon quill is exactly what I had been seeking, and that is if I discuss its quality alone.
I pray that I can exceed her expectations just as well in what she asked of me in trade. But then, isn't this exactly what the point of these commissions is, to learn how to do exactly that?
One item is complete, and I set my attention on the others, now. Still, now that I've set one foot on the bridge, there is no turning back. I just wish that I could better control my apprehension. I have no idea what I will do next if my offering is found wanting, or if this metaphorical bridge should collapse beneath me. Just the thought of it makes me feel the need for a pot of tea to soothe my nerves. Valardin black it is, then.

Relationship Note on Petal
I was so happy to hear about the stock of new designs at Petal's shop, and when I went, it turned out that they were all just as lovely as the masquerade costume and mask I got there. The leggings are a first. I am not entirely certain what I will pair with them but the way they cling and accentuate and how comfortably they are cut, I had to get them. Also, the twilight colored lions. She is such a talented seamstress, I adore her work, though the dresses are nothing to sneeze at either. I picked up three of those, too.

I remember the day I first meet you, I was so worried about meeting you. Then I got to know you, the more time we spoke and spent together I found a very different person then I thought I would. One who is fierce to protect those she cares for and one who would give anyone the shirt off her back if she could. I am proud to be your husband now to stand at your side, I do not see anyone else I would want to have at my side. I look forward to the days to come for the good and the bad, for the many adventures I know we will have!

That sharp eye for detail and graceful lines went straight to the very dress I wore for meeting its maker, purely a matter of circumstance and chance. But how can I complain about that? I hope to give her proper thanks and further business in the future. Petal shared her creativity in a vision of a silken nocturne that speaks to my very spirit. Remarkably gifted. Now to find a hoard of ancient silver to pay her for the privilege of more clothes.

Two of the cloaks for The Gala are ready. Is it wrong that I don't want to have the party anymore, just so I can keep these incredible works of art for myself? Goodwoman Petal has outdone herself. And that was just for the Umbra and the Seasilk. I can only IMAGINE what the Aeterna, Pyreweave and Steelsilk Cloaks will look like when she's finished them! This raffle is going to be the hardest thing I have ever done. Give /away/ shiny, priceless things???

Mistress Petal is going to make the new outfits the Marquis "suggested" Jessa and I get. She's a talented artist, and so I'm excited - something different and new! And Jessa wandered out with me around Arx, and we made a day of it, and ended in Petal's comfortable, /warm/ shop. She is, I think, a woman who has seen too much sorrow. She is acclimating to Arx and I hope that she continues to do so. And that one day what sorrows can be abated are.
