Relationship Note on Orick

Yes, I got distracted. I was supposed to be seeking a metal that would hold the heat for a longer period of time. In the process, I learned of how much pressure some metals can take, and what happens depending upon where their vents are placed.

I have taken up much of this time in figuring out which metal can hold the boiling pressure the longest before taking flight. The next step is to see if talking to the pots will make a difference in the direction that they go. Or if it will always be the same unknown variables. At least I've figured out how to make a hole or dent versus something that will bring the guard upon the house. However, in that venture. They have been well fed when they do show up. Though possibly bad for business.

The neighbors haven't been complaining much as of late.

Relationship Note on Orick

Scholar. I have taken to trying out some experiments and would like to apologize to the citizens of the city for the loud bang that echoed through the southern end of the uppers last night. At the very least I have not heard from any of the medics that have become close friends with me, or at least have shown me a kindness over the last few days. Pieces of my first experiment have been found littered about the city. I have not seen fires from these pieces, though the metal was still quite warm to the touch when found.

After a most interesting conversation with a scholar I took to shaping some metal into a crude pot with a tightened lid, then set a small fire underneath it. The idea was to see how long it would hold the heat. As I didn't want to melt the steel, I had placed a decent amount of water inside of the pot. I'm assuming that I fell asleep either due to too many leaves or from what the medics have been giving me in small amounts for the healing.

I awoke shortly before the pot took to flight, though was only able to push the pot over from the fire. It was making an interesting hissing noise, and I thought that maybe the tea was ready until I remembered that I wasn't making tea.

The bang that occurred thereafter was quite loud and my ears were still ringing when the guards showed up demanding entry to what they were sure was the shop being set a fire.

It took some convincing, though was finally able to put their minds at ease. I then took to the city to find said pot.

YES I TOOK MY CANE. I KNOW YOU'RE READING THIS.

I believe that I found pieces of the steel pot scattered throughout the city as far north as the market. I will need to find a stronger metal than the simple steel that I had on hand. As this would not do well for the project if one were to fall asleep in the process of heating their waters.

This will not do. A new metal will need to be found. And I shall need to stay awake.

Relationship Note on Orick

A Softest Whisper does her best to spread her attention, and I've placed it in Tor Plaza today. Visiting Professor Orick's shop, "a Taste of Tor". Wines, perfumes, masks. A delightful little find.

He's running a silent auction for a one-of-a-kind, unique mask, too, which... Well. He claims it's less a mask, more a piece of art. A statement.

I don't disagree.

It's a curious thing, really. I've seen _similar_ before. And the choice of his cast is intriguing. I might be tempted to put in a bid solely to add it to my collection.

It would do nicely next to Master Apollo's "Attention".

If I win, I might place them opposite each other.

An old friend with new ideas. I'm glad he's still around.
