Relationship Note on Ophira

My sister has many qualities I lack: she is a graceful dancer, a talented musician, a brilliant strategist, tasteful in fashion and liked by Marquessa Tyche. I wish that she were not so perceptive however, so she could not tease me quite so mercilessly.

Both.
I did both.

Relationship Note on Ophira

In speaking with a guest today I was reminded of how much I miss the graceful steps of my sister in the palazzo. Several times I sat at night in the water garden, drinking tea or rum, in quiet reflections on the war, or trade, or the events of the day. Ophira would walk barefoot up to the fountain: her company, like a guiding star on a clear night at sea. She would converse with me, and sometimes not - would drink with me, and sometimes not, would sometimes rest her head on my shoulder, or hum a beautiful tune.

I miss moving past the tablinium, and hearing the sound of her voice singing when she thought no one could hear her. I came in one night from a failed raid, covered in dried blood. I'd washed the gash in my arm with alcohol, and I should've applied fire, but I let Hob bandage it instead. Anne practically carried me to the gate, but by the time I'd gotten inside, I'd managed to shake off all assistance, and wandered toward the garden alone. There in the moonlight, Ophira was practicing the knife dance of Ischia. It is transporting sometimes to see the way a dolphin cuts the waves: a body in perfect, effortless motion. Such was the vision of Ophira dancing with her blades.

She has begun a new voyage, and before her lies a dangerous course, but she does not sail alone.

Relationship Note on Ophira

Congratulations, sister. Though I shall miss your graceful steps in the water garden, and our late conversations over rum beneath a sea of stars, my love sails with you always. May you find purpose and contentment in your union, and may New Hope prosper by your skill and creativity.

Relationship Note on Ophira

In this last year in Arx, I can confidently say I have never seen a noblewoman climb over a bar in a fancy dress. Twice. Serving her will not be my duty, but also my pleasure.

Relationship Note on Ophira

I have only spoken with the Prima a small number of times, but I think you will find that she is hardly the only person who will grow angry at the notion of treating human lives as commodities.

Relationship Note on Ophira

I didn't exactly have to /try/. I have eyes. They're what I use to keep reading all these attempts at trying to sell and then justify a scheming political move.

If you want to give assistance, donate to the Faith's efforts, or the Crafters Guild. It's not a generous offer to let desperate, hungry people go put themselves at risk to make you money, and then tell them they can donate /their/ coin to the cause. It's trying to grow your domain, your power, and your coffers by taking advantage of a city-wide crisis to convince crownsworn to shift their allegiances.
