I believe Lady Medeia Saik accepted my offer of patronage purely because I have, in the past, encouraged her curiosity and the boldest of her ideas. Every now and then, our madder notions need a little nudge, and it's been a privilege to be able to encourage hers. She hardly needs it now. Meet a few successes and that support isn't so necessary any longer.
She is a spectacular overachiever, vastly more capable than most of us, and she'll have my support whenever she asks it, however unneeded it may be.

Relationship Note on Medeia
Today was Lady Medeia's birthday party, and my, oh my, the decorations were nothing short of glorious. The music chamber was adorned in a rustic fashion which carried the charm of Saikland Greens. The ambiance was exquisite, a testament to the impeccable taste of Lady Medeia and her penchant for extravagance.
While it was a party held by Saik for the trio of birthdays, to twins Medeia and Neilda, and their Baroness Lucita. There was a marvelous moment when two small family reunions were able to take place. That is the warmth which we need more of these days, to be able to see those we call our family and share some cheer with them.
Sometimes, it's the simplicity of being with loved ones, even if only for a fleeting moment, that adds true richness to our lives.

Relationship Note on Medeia
Met the lady Medeia at the hospital the other day. She is such a gracious lady, and was quite welcoming. I am sure I can learn so much from her, and draw from her experiences. She referred me to a couple other people whom I must seek out within the city. Hopefully, with my return to the guild our visits will not be infrequent, and we might forge a friendship together.

I never really thought much about patrons and such, you know? I mean, my jewelry, the glass things…they're ways of me spending my time between repair jobs. Ways to look at what comes in old and to try to see what the one who made it saw, what the one who spent coppers on it saw. Those things aren't really ever going to be what the nobles of the city want to wear beyond the odd now-and-again. And, so, I don't really have much to offer a patron. It's not me being down on it, it's just what is. And it's fine, and it works out. I don't so much need much, either.
But our talk at the Queen's Shrine the other day keeps me thinking back to my patron. And how she shows that helping people isn't just things you speak about when other people are around to listen, then forget later. And how taking care of people doesn't have to be seen as taking something from yourself.
It took a day or two to come around to feeling grateful.

Saikland Greens is always an interesting trip. One is never quite sure of what will be found there, though to find many dances that went long into the early hours of the following day was the best treat. That and meeting new faces. Though the dances are what's the point here.

Having returned home, she was warm and friendly. I had only encountered her a few times before so it was very nice. She is completely loyal to our family and to have someone like that, I must say I am quite impressed my near brother managed to marry someone like her. Eswynds may seem brutish to other, but we do have quite good taste. Haakon choosing her is proof of that.

I suspect only that you and Lord Vitalis would both have ended up a bit more soggy and with the distinctly unpleasant feeling of water in your noses. It's a very lovely garden that Lady Medeia tends and I was glad for the invitation to visit it. I enjoyed the little tour and our conversation together. I imagine the view of the bay from the back wall is wonderful too and one day hope to experience it. I promise I'll stay out of the nettles.

Lady Eswynd has apparently said said some very kind things about me. It is very nice to be recognized for who one tries to be, though it was also nice to hear someone say i'm not as soft as i first appear. Part of me worries quite a bit about being perceived as weak or naive for the choices I make. I do in fact show anger quite a bit but do my level best to keep such moments behind closed doors. the other part of me thinks perhaps it isn't so bad if the compact's enemies find I'm more than the bargained for
