The war ended years ago, yet its events live on. My sisters grow more powerful, estranged, like the crowns of two great trees expanding to fill the same canopy, never touching, while I flit along our exposed ancient roots on the forest floor.

It is good to see Countess Charon again, as if a day has not passed. Her beauty of heart and passion to be here for our family, is reassuring. We are stronger for her presence.
