Relationship Note on Lenne

I find myself wondering if the snow has thawed where you are, and if you're happier now without the things that brought you pain so very near to you.

I hope you were able to find solace. I hope your heart and mind still race at the possibilities of this world - I hope you still have piles and piles of books around you, so many that I could scarcely hope to catch up in a year, let alone a month. I admired that hunger. I admire it still.

You should see how absurdly long my hair has gotten. It's hard to believe that when we met I was self-conscious about the way it brushed the back of my neck, and now it's all but nipping my knees. Penning this makes me realize how long it's been since I saw you last, and the yawning feeling inside of me opens up again. There's room in my heart for many, and apparently room enough for the absence of many to be felt as keenly.

I hope you think on us, but I of all people know the value of finding peace with who you are as a person before being able to face the world properly. It's a process I'm still working on, myself.

Relationship Note on Lenne

Many are those who discount the value of someone who can notice when something is about to go awry - I am not one of them. It's not a gift I'm particularly attuned to, and the number of times I've near-blundered only to have someone more attentive save my hide is rather high.

All the same... Do be careful, Lenne Crovane.

You are just as exasperating as when we were kids.

Relationship Note on Lenne

Sonnet for Lenne

No hero am I, dear sister, who does
But raise a sword to bring serenity
To an unquiet mind o'rwhelmed with floods,
With a fierce and desperate hope, though weak.

In my deeds are but the fruit of others'
Long labors, who trained me with tenderness
To stand firm, so darkness will not cover,
Nor to fail my oaths when I face my tests.

But you, O radiant mind, and seeking!
Who with unbowed head, sharing true knowledge
Do shine a brilliant light into the dream,
Kindling in all hearts undying courage.

From you, dear sister, do I learn and grow,
And see what it means to be a hero.

Relationship Note on Lenne

Thanks for looking after me the past few days. Sorry I haven't been more fun in since you've made to the city - but I promise to make it up to you with Lottie's, the best tea and coffee, rummaging through the Gilded Page, games at the Golden Hart, a soak in the stone pools, browsing the Spirit Walkers' library, shopping at the Tangled Skein and The Leather Paean, and a ride around the Gray Forest, while the weather's at its best.

You'll have so much fun, you'll be begging to be be bored again with Rukhnis, while she describes each of the herbs found in the conservatory - first in alphabetical order, and then all over again in order of their properties.
