I hope that our people understand why we chose to stand at Lenosia, rather than Nilanza. I know the journey there cannot possibly be easy. Such a journey is toil for those fit and hale. And we've asked our holdings emptied entirely. There are children, expecting mothers, the elderly, infirm. Refugees and the many injured in wars without respite. They are asked to take little with them, and to trust that there will be enough when they arrive. That they will find welcome, sustenance, solace, safe harbor.
In all of Arvum, there are none I would trust more to provide it than Archduchess Jaenelle Velenosa. Her effort, seen over the last decade, has been to fortify the Lyceum entire. To help us build our holdings and raise up our people, to celebrate their successes and soothe in time of need. At her expense. She might have used her formidable command, her might and cleverness, only for Lenosia itself. The oaths sworn between liege and vassal do not demand the way she has built us all up. Conventional wisdom might have suggested she shouldn't. There are those who might argue that, grown under her watch, we would only use what she's given to usurp her. The world can be a brutal place. The Lyceum, particularly cutthroat.
It takes magnificent vision and extraordinary leadership to achieve what she has.
To the people of Nilanza: we care for you deeply. She has shown she cares no less. We will fight to keep Lenosia whole, and our people - those of Nilanza, Lenosia, and the Lyceum together - safe. We fight together to save us all.

Wise, understanding, making tough decisions when they are necessary. I always come away from a conversation with her feeling like I have gained something or learned something and with a warm feeling inside.

In a few months it will be 4 years of marriage. Four of them. I promised you two, so I made well and good on that promise. I'm pretty sure you are coming up with new ways to end my life. Just know, that I came into this willingly and knowing that I was going to probably die at your hands when boredom set in. Luckily, I was the one to teach you about pointy things so I know I can rule that one out as the way of my end.

You are also still as intoxicating (and dangerous) as when I first met you at the Ambassador. It may have been my best jerk moment considering I walked away with you. You have managed to make me growl slightly less, managed to get me to dance at social events, managed to get me to social events, have made me a father, have understood my dark moods and my less than pleasing happy moods when you are the one that gets the prank pulled on, you have changed all my plans for my life -- pretty much with one look too -- damn you. Through it all and I mean all of it. Even those few moments where I may have unintentionally almost caused a riot or got captured for running my mouth. Or when there were a few uncertain moves. I would do them all again in this life and in all the others. You have always been the better half in this arrangement and of that I have not one doubt. Thank you for choosing me (not that you had a lot of options since you related to almost everyone).

Poison - It has definitely been an adventure.
To the whites - there is a strange moment in a man's life when he is there to witness the birth of his child. My first child was a girl. Which taught me a lot about such things. This child a boy. I was excited by that until --- there was another one. We have had twins and frankly, it was a shock for us all. It shouldn't have been considering my wife's family tree, but it was.
Jaenelle did beautifully as only she could while I was a mere helpless viewer of the event. My son, Herik and my daughter, Theia have arrived.

I'm not really the easiest guy to be in a marriage with. I tend to cause more issue than clean them up. I tend to not care when I should. I tend to find it amusing to try my new potions (totally not poisons) on people unsuspectingly. I even tend to offend people you are trying to make friends with.
I did remember your birthday without prompting. Pretty sure I remembered our anniversary too. I'm still alive, so that's another year to my credit. Living on borrowed time, Poison. One of the above-mentioned actions is definitely going to get you to order me quartered or something. Until then though ---

You are starting to grow on me though - I tolerate you, I suppose, if I must. The Archduchess' feast of the senses was one of the most unique events I've ever had the pleasure of attending. Out of my comfort zone, but there's a certain amount of freedom in being cut off from sight, your own and others. It's liberating in a way I've never experienced before. And the chocolate cake made with wine? I've never had anything so sweet.
I even wore my new hair ornament, which was the most stunning gift from a new and dear friend. I seem to have misplaced it since but I'm sure it will turn up.

The Archduchess has swirled in controversy of late. Oh sure, what else would one expect from the Lyceum? Sometimes we create drama for the sake of entertainment (though in truth, we do it so our enemies expose themselves, shhh). Anyway, while her hall was being attacked by imps and ghosts of the past, she took the time to shatter their spirits with quips. I mean, I'm being dramatic, but in truth there were dozens and dozens of armed citizens and guards about. A lesser leader would have taken offence to the ongoings, but instead she gave me the impression of a parent that knew the tantrum would fizzle away, and the punishments would be dulled out. And they were.

I know she is a strong and capable woman. She’s chosen to make me a husband, which sometimes frustrates me to no end. However, on this one, she has outdone herself. This woman not only made a life, but made me a father. Me, the Grayson Prince of not caring and doing as I please. She bestowed this on me. For this I shall be eternally grateful.

It is always a joy to have a wine bottled for a special occasion, but there is something truly magnificent about creating a wine for a special occasion. Archduchess Jaenelle has been the best to work with on such a project! And I cannot understate how much honor and pride I felt having the vintners of Saikland recognized at such a prestigious event. The fortified wine is as bold as she - and her new husband - is, layering the distinct characteristics of a single grape varietal into a deceptively strong yet velvety smooth drink. The aim was to create a wine that would not only be worthy of the couple and their celebration, but a wine that would evoke the spirit of them and their union.
I think we accomplished that. And though duty kept me from attending the event myself, it was a pleasure to see the intention to celebrate the second anniversary with it. Archduchess, I tucked a few bottles aside, just in case. Should you find yourself without a bottle come that day? Send word and one will be sent to you.
