Relationship Note on Fatima
I am not your ally, crown-seeker, and I never have been. I started with nothing, title-hunter, and everything I have I earned with my own sweat and blood and cunning - save for the love of two of the best people that the world has to offer, for which I will forever be grateful.
My real allies are fighting - and dying - to buy time for the army you bring to arrive. Time is not on our side and you said that yourself, glory-sniffer, but you're willing to waste a little of it to get your crown. You are wasting the lives of my allies and my kin on slaughtering your way to a crown, sacrificing their last breaths on the altar of your own personal ambitions, and only once those are sated will you bother to help the armies already engaged in what you have so loudly announced as a fight just as important as the one that faces us here in Arvum.
I have refused a greater change in station than you seek, Woman Who Would Be Queen For A Week; don't piss on me and tell me it's raining. Fatima the Ruthless, Fatima the Diplomat, Fatima the Sellsail, Fatima the Ambitious; go and do what you will, by your own choice. But don't tell me I can't judge your decision. And don't even think about telling a street orphan who rose to Ulbran Second that he doesn't understand what it means to be ruthless.

Funny, a princess says that a ruler's job is to choose the path that is for the overall benefit of those who look to her for protection.
Now here's a pauper to point out that if there's no world no more it doesn't matter how many fancy metal hats she's got, she's let the people who look to her for protection down.
Go and claim your throne, would-be Queen of Petrioch, but don't claim it's for the good of the world. We can see you and we can see through you. Our very existence is at stake, but you just want a fancy metal hat.

No. The path of the ruler is your concern, not mine. I don't want the wolf throne; I let that dream die at the Blood Moon, and made different choices. Regardless, I've little interest in spending time bought with lives to lessen my sense of urgency, even if I hadn't been shown, repeatedly and in great detail, all the horrible ways we'll die if I ignore or neglect the message sent by the Old Gods of Nefer'khat. Grandmother was neither kind nor subtle in delivering it.
I never asked you for your fleet, and I never had any reason to expect you would help, so there's no risk of me taking it personally when you sail off with your own boats to see to your own business. My concern isn't about my personal desires, it's about survival. Everyone's survival. Nothing else could pull me away from Arvum.
All of that said, I think you may have the wrong impression of me. I'd say that you could dig up the Horned God to ask his opinion on my capacity for ruthlessness, but the ravens were hungry and his carcass wasn't worth burying.

Princess Fatima erred. The Faith and her House declared it so, and penance was assigned.
She could have ignored that penance. She could have done the bare minimum, or found some other way to be granted leniency.
Instead, I've learned, she did more than was asked.
I trust Legate Cassandra's word when she says Princess Fatima went beyond what was asked to prove herself, and I trust Legate Cassandra's decision to declare the penance met.
I trust Highlord Victus, and his decision to return her title.
I cannot forget what happened. Perhaps if I were a better person I could, but forgetting is not within my power.

I quite enjoyed our meeting as well Princess. It was I can say the most interesting day I have had since my coming to this city. I am glad to learn more of my Eurusi history and heritage if such is there, and as for the Canines... it is something I already do. I will of course help as I can.
As for Princess Denica, Lady Carita, and Lady Monique... I think we /both/ owe all three. Just to be safe and make sure nobody is left out.

I hosted a small dinner to introduce Princess Fatima to my sisters. I am honored that she attended and agreed to come to the Order of the White Lily induction ceremony with me. She seemed only mildly disappointed that I was not in fact my sister Astraea.

Fatima, dearest cos', please - please don't scream. I think that it might startle the House thralls if you shriek bloody murder at my reappearance. Besides that, I am trying to improve my skulk. It will ruin my practice of sneaking unnoticed down hallways and in doorways if you give away the game.

As Keaton Hall nears completion, I cannot help but reflect on those who have aided either directly or indirectly in its creation. One particular individual, Princess Fatima Thrax, Voice of Thrax, was a pleasure to negotiate with in trade dealings and always swift and fair. I will remember this in my future dealings. I will also remember that invitation to dinner.

A sultry Thrax Princess who I most recently encountered at another pool party. When none of the men proved up to the task of undressing me this time around, she was happy to assist. Truly, she seems a woman of my own heart, if perhaps bolder than even I dare to be! I do hope to see a bit more of her. Er, to see her around a bit more. Yes, that's what I meant.
