Relationship Note on Eshra

It was never a moment in which I meant to scare you. Never a time in which my games to play upon my brothers where I would hide, you would always know where I was. You were my protector, my teacher, my closest friend and the one to introduce me to the sisters to be my guardians when you could not.

It became a game in of itself. To find a new dance, and new treat, and fashion to how fast I could hide. Then turning into how to train and how to protect our family so -that- would never happen again.

When the time came to take to the waters and rivers, we had already seen loss at Sanctum. I reached back to the Expanse to grab the one thing which I didn't bother to pack at first. Perhaps I thought we would come back to the city after. I was naive.

And in that. I am sorry for making you worry about me.

I was never supposed to be our family's protector. Yet here we are. And I while I might seek to change one thing from a time before where ours was not of our own to choose. I can never change that you raised me when our parents were busy in their own tasks. I can never change that it was your song that would calm me when we were younger.

It is from that alone that I thought to stay and seek to protect those that I call friends.

Relationship Note on Eshra

Lady Eshra was kind enough to send bells and cookies for Lord Eadric and Lady Annalise. They were both fueled by the sugar for many hours. However the bells secured to their persons made it very difficult for Lord Eadric to escape. He insists he's going to sail to the whirlpool in the harbor. Doesn't he knows he's a Laurent? Taking too much after Lord Flavien these days with all the ships.

I suppose he'll learn how to undo the strings eventually...

Relationship Note on Eshra

A poem for my Rivenshari friends. Thank you for your invitation.

Oh today I danced.
I danced the dance of the drum.
I danced the dance of my beating heart.
I danced for the past, present and future.
I danced for liberation and freedom.
Oh today I danced.

(( A very small note at the bottom states, I think Rysen is rubbing off on me.))

Relationship Note on Eshra

Some sisters get you thoughtful gifts. They consider the various options and interests you have. They take the time to scour the city to find just the right thing for you.

Mine got me Boats. So many boats...

Your sisters should take a lesson.

Relationship Note on Eshra

I've had not had the pleasure of knowing the Rivenshari even back when, hunting the abandoned is all we did. I had my concerns about entrusting Lady Eshra and her people with my valuable horses and seeing them reach their destination. Normally this sort of transactions were done on land but time required that I get them to where they needed to go. Promptly.

I am glad my concerns were unfounded because what I saw was a well disciplined and committed army, led by this woman, Lady Eshra Rivernshari. They took my horses and without anymore exchanges in conversation other than what was required for the mission, the Rivenshari got to work. How they did it, and how fast they did it, is evident of their skills at sea but I had not laid my head on a pillow before I received a message that the horses arrived safely.

The whole affair reminded me of a time back when I did not have the responsibilities of stewardship chaining me to a desk, back when Prince Dayne and I were young and hungered for glory. We met a group of abandoned that welcomed us into their village after we had gotten lost in the woods tracking bandits. They had just recovered from raid and harsh weather. Their dwellings all collapse and what appeared to be years of labor undone. Still, they moved like one unit, like an ant or a bee, they put up their structures, clean their settlement, designated their workstations and before the sun had come down they were living life as if nothing had happen. Just in time to celebrate their dead. They would recover their belongings and leave nothing behind. We followed them farther into the woods before leaving for the mountains and chasing a river that would lead us back to civilization and saw them do this multiple times. Every single time, efficient as the last. I understand it is not polite to assume they all are the same; the prodigals, the abandoned, the shavs, but there is something about living out here with nothing but what you can carry, about knowing your place and duty, that I think I can learn a lot about.

I hope this business means that House Blanchard and House Rivenshari can continue to work together in the future. I am interested in what having access to the sea can do for us.

Relationship Note on Eshra

I'm not sure if I'll ever get the sound of bells out of my ears. Between the ones the apprentices made, and the three large that I crafted, the shop still rings in the aftermath. Spread out I am sure they are not so bad. When all in one place? No.

If there is a next time, I'll probably need your help to get me to the bed anyway. Thank you for being there and making sure the apprentices don't slack off.

Sister, oh mine, you amaze me, with your wit, and your drive, but fun is need. I hope you remember this.

You're the reason I stay in this damn city. Somebody has to have to their hand on the rudder. No one better than our best navigator.

Relationship Note on Eshra

She is just as annoying, as ever and trying to make me grow up, and place away silly, things. But dearest sister honor does not mean boring and dull, remember that and we both honor our families. But sometimes fun is the cure, and sometimes study, and sometimes war, but always in love and kindness.
