Relationship Note on Emberly

She is a kind lady. Honest, and true to her friends. I can see why they are also true to her. She will be a great friend. I just hope others will give her a chance to redeem herself, rather than holding the past against her, especially when none of us can tell what the future will bring with the war nearing.

Relationship Note on Emberly

I can think of few more questionable uses of noble judgment than the elevation of a young lady to the Peerage who was cast out by her family for wildly inappropriate behavior. Especially since there as always a path for the commoner known as Emberly to reclaim her birthright: to make peace with her family and seek penance for her wrongdoing instead of claiming to be the wronged party all along.

I am disappointed to hear the words of the heralds this morning, for those familiar with this situation cannot avoid knowledge of how Miss Emberly came to be a commoner.

House Crovane absolutely has the power to make this foolish choice, but unlike the House of Lady Emberly's birth, they certainly did not request the advice of the Dominus on the matter.

Relationship Note on Emberly

I am wholly unsurprised by this turn of events. That woman is nothing but a snake. She couldn't treat commoners with respect, so I do not have any pity for her now that she's been... compromised.

Relationship Note on Emberly

Welcome to life as a commoner, where they don't have to even acknowledge that you said anything and you get to curtsey when they're mean to you.

On the bright side, you can work for a living, or starve! On the less bright side, you're now at the mercy of the Iron Guard and the Inquisition.

Relationship Note on Emberly

It is only a matter of weeks since Emberly was seeking marriage with my cousin, Lord Romulius Blackshore. Perhaps it is because the match was rejected that she was driven into attempting a poisoning. I can still hardly believe what I have heard, for I liked Emberly, counted her as a friend and saw only the gentle and sweet nature of the girl. However, I don't doubt the evidence that must have been brought against Emberly, and can only conclude that my cousin has had a narrow escape.

Relationship Note on Emberly

Sing on, O poet dear!
Such strains of dancing genius clear,
And seek your darling, sacred muse
In stars and trees and wat'ry floods -
Wherever she may happ'ly play,
And when your quill you deign to raise,
Please send me then your joyful bird
For I would not miss a word!

Relationship Note on Emberly

Another good week with one of my students. Truly, several years ago, the idea of having even one would have had me laugh. Now there are responsibilities and being mature.

Still time, though, to adjust to our delightfully Lycene drinking habits.

Relationship Note on Emberly

We live in troubled times, what with the looming threat of foreign aggression and quakes of the ground and such.

So it was an even greater pleasure than usual when Lady Emberly allowed me to run and play with her fine hound, Pickle.

He is a very good boy. I am unsure of his heritage, but I find hounds of mixed parentage of often the strongest and wisest of beasts.

He is a jolly creature I am happy to call friend, and today was a good day.
