Relationship Note on Elgana
My amazing cousin, Princess Elgana, had a dream about building a caravel. Not an actual dream, but the sort of ambitious hope that opens up the world to a person. At no few dinners with close family and friends, she spoke of the wonderful adventures that could be had and the good it might do for House Redrain. That dream formed into a passion that she not only achieved, but surpassed. One caravel turned into three, in no small part because of her efforts, and I was even allowed the great honor of helping to name one. His Grace allowed an investment from the House to help fund the endeavor, and Princess Helena and Prince Lorenzo contributed greatly as well, both in word and deed.
I am so proud to have been a part of this project along with my cousins and husband, and especially proud of Princess Elgana who can create great deeds from the seeds of hope.

As usual, my cousin Princess Elgana threw the most wonderful dinner event! The food, drinks, and decor were beyond elegant, and perfectly Northlands. The company? I could go on for paragraphs about the wonderful conversations. Between catching up with old friends and making new acquaintances, the seeds of various endeavors were planted and discussed, which I am greatly looking forward to. There were those who were missing, due to duties or other necessary commitments, and all were quite missed. Thankfully, the success of this dinner surely means there will be more to come.

What can possibly be said about my cousin, Princess Elgana, that will do her any credible justice? She is one of the cleverest people I know and makes hosting and social gatherings look like child's play. A formidable mind, too, she is someone that I think I might always be able to go to when I've grander questions or just need an objective mind to help me with something. Beyond being family, her contributions to House Redrain are ones I am so very, very grateful for; truly, I am blessed to have her as both family and a fellow leader in our House. What I am most fortunate for, though, is that I get to call her one of my dearest friends atop all of that.

It was Dame Brianne Keaton who forged that alliance of men, elves and dragons. She had the foresight and the vision to reach out to the Sky King and a Duke of the Sylv'alfar, bringing them together and swearing oaths to assist one another. That alliance was what saved us all from the Reckoning and Keaton Keep was built on the site where that convocation took place. It is humbling to think about.
I for one hope to someday, somehow, follow in the footsteps of Dame Brianne Keaton, and reestablish the Promise of Oakhaven.

Family is one of the best blessings of this life, I think. The family that you know will always have your back. The memories made, as well as the ones to come, all weave their own tales, too. Some of my fondest memories with Artur were when I would sneak out after him when he would go off adventuring. I would try to leap into the prints his boots had left so that no one would see my own tracks and think to follow. The quiet hum of the forest, the brilliance of the snow, hearing his far off cries as he battled great monsters... Like you, those are the memories I hold deep in my heart and recall on the harder days.

Princess Elgana Redrain is put upon by my cousin. It is only her royal demeanor and disposition that keeps her sane I imagine. Fortunately I am not required to be as proper as the young Princess and can tell Arik off rather freely.
I sympathize with the threats of marriage. I admire the deft deflections. I wonder if she's ever killed her own dinner. Two out of three isn't bad.

Princess Elgana is one of my favorite people. No matter what else is going on in my life or Arvum at large, I can always count on her to share a drink with me and talk for a little while about things no one's life depends on. Work is work, but sometimes it's nice to think about something else for a while.

I am so glad you were there to witness that event, your presence made the whole thing even better and I didn't know such a thing was possible, but you definitely proved it was.
