Relationship Note on Ciro

My cousin sent me a painting of Imogene at Braiga. He painted it from memory. Her hair, her eyes, the style of dress the expression of her features - it is a perfect likeness, and so far as I know, the only one in existence.

When I first saw the painting, I nearly dropped it. My vision blurred and tears streamed down my face in spite of my will. To hold in my hand the image of one whom I loved so dearly, who changed my life, and who brought so much to Ischia was an unthinkable blessing. I had not, nor will I ever forget her face - but to see her again in Ciro's painting brought back her voice, rich with the accents of the Oathlands, the smell of her hair, the sound of the clavichord that she so dearly loved to play.

There is no good man who does not wish to protect what he loves, and in that I have utterly failed. She was taken for granted all her life, and I never had the chance to convey to her how much she meant to me. When I enter the Shinning Lands, the gods will look on my life of infamy and violence, and see my greatest sin.

I was entrusted with true nobility, and was not there when she needed me most. Yet when I look on the one who took my hand, and joined me as the Countess of the March of Ischia, I feel an invincible resolve to live in such a way as would make her proud.

Thank you, Ciro. This is a gift I will cherish until my last breath.

Relationship Note on Ciro

Today I had the great privilege of seeing Lord Ciro Seraceni's entry for consideration of the Libation of the Year earn that title. If any should doubt that the man has great skill with rum, doubt no longer - for he has Mangata's favor. Congratulations, my friend. This must bode well for the distillery.

If a brew does not place in a contest, to me it is not decidedly a failure. I'd hate to see the efforts of a crafter and inspiration granted by Jayus taken for granted simply because the palettes of the judges of said singular contest may have preferred another.

Tastes are subjective and unless it causes illness someone undoubtedly will enjoy it. That is not a failure.

I really like playing Pirate with you!

Do you think I would look like a pirate with a hat, and a eyepatch? And some Lycene Piratey-garb?

Just don't want to board a ship. Ugh. Boats. Swaying without the dirty earthy under your feet.

Bonus being Pirate: Treasures, and booty and..and..you get to say Arrrrrgh! And lots of Hurrahs!

Negatives: Being on run from law. Murdery thievey things. Boats.

Mmmn, I guess it's not a Pirate's Life for me. Boats seals it.

Relationship Note on Ciro

A special man had a special day.

He danced (carefully) with Lady Medeia, with me and Calla. I might have fallen on my tushy making it feel a little less cushy. But he made me feel comfy. He made me a chemise to swim in, which was quite nice. Very Lycene, and I quite love it! Lycene's know how to live! Light, airy, fun to look at clothing. And you can usually climb a tree in them.

We had a bit of a gruff missive exchange going, but I met him a bit by chance due to a mutual interest friend. I do think he's pretty special. He might be a Lord, but he also is Lord of the dance! With a wiggle, and a jiggle, and a flippity twirl. That's how I saw him on the dance floor with grace and flow and dancy terms I don't know.

There's a softness to him, and he keeps feeding me treats. I'm not going to say no, to a fig and a cobbler. I just open my mouth to become the gobbler!

Nomnom nom, yum yum yum. Though I've found eating treats is more fun with a friend.

I hope you felt special on your very special day. Filled with loves and hugs, dancing as long as you might! Remember to take it easy or a sprain you'll experience in a place out of sight.

This is a wish of wellwishes to you, I hope and I pray that you felt special on your day. A hug, a kiss and all things nice. With Baroness Calla, you both made for me a wonderfully great night!

Put more yummy figs into people's mouths, and less pretty words in people's ears and they will open to receptiveness.

Also, no dancing for the next several days, or I will have Lady Eirene visit you. You don't want Lady Eirene to visit you.

Relationship Note on Ciro

There are things in this life that do not always make sense. In fact, most things do not always make sense. However, I do my best to understand and seek out those who know more than me. I share my knowledge openly, in the hope of ensuring others may gain understanding as well.

And so it pains me, truly, that I have lived through the circumstances that led to this situation, and I cannot explain how exactly it came to pass. In a swirl of chaos and smoke, in the throes of wild-eyed acting with a smattering of odd luck... We have become jointly responsible for a decrepit distillery on a southern island.

May the gods have mercy on us.

Relationship Note on Ciro

Elonzo made arrangements with traders, and we were flush after many days at sea. Rum flowed in the palazzo, and the crew made plans to shower Princess Valencia's Hart in silver. Suddenly Lord Ciro entered, shoeless as a babe on an Ischian beach, carrying a bottle of cheap liquor. Having other responsibilities, I retried to my suite, and, after some tedious book keeping, I seized the opportunity to catch up with my cousin at the Hart.

Lord Ciro, who some hours earlier had been in the most dissolute state, stood before a tower of silver, with a flock of courtiers and visiting nobles. We shared several drinks, and I gambled away some coin. The crew was raucous but merry, and an alluring courtier chose me for her dance partner. Having enjoyed the pleasures of the Hart, I retired to the palazzo.

The next day, I saw my cousin pass through the hall wearing some handsome new boots. Gamblers throughout the city are no doubt rubbing their hands.
