How long as it been now? I've lost track of the months, but not the seasons. From summer, to autumn, and now winter. From sunshine and dips in hidden-away pools to autumn walks, to now wintery stays by the fireplace. Our past is linked with bloodshed on opposing sides of the same war, a fascinating twist we learned early on, and now we laugh at those demons that sometimes still call for us in the night. How fitting.

Lycene pool party. It was nice to--Cool down. And see others do the same. It was also just as nice, if not more so, to see my cousin Duchess Calista. Well, by marriage. I suppose that matters to most. Kudos to her and Duchess Grazia for allowing others the chance to cool off from the hot sun. Which turned into a water fight of sorts I think. Which still turned into a great time. A welcome distraction from current times. Even if it was brief.

Tor has no rivals in beauty, but some aspect of it suffuses the Fidante Villa of Arx. I had one of the most pleasurable days in recent memory swimming and conversing with the guests of Duchess Calista and Duchess Grazia.

To catch up with the Duchess of Roses was quite the delight. Fine glasses of red wine, chitter and gossip of course for dinner, made for quite the late night. Also to have seen the glow of Marquessa Lora, with Marquis Dante, brought dear cheer in.
Let us not have it be so long again, yes Duchess? I do beseech you to please share the dear story of this Prince as well. I am touched with an air of curiosity.

It is an absolute joy to reconnect with the Duchess Fidante, whom I always admired as a girl in the Lyceum. With everything upon the shoulders of the nobility at present, I have a feeling that she and I could do some wonderful things together.

There are many things that you could ask of me. There are many things you have asked. I have done many, and will continue to do each to the best of my ability.
But this? I think it might at last be more than I can bear. But he would've wanted it.
How can I say no?
We do not choose the paths that lie ahead of us; we can but decide which to follow, seldom knowing where it might lead. Betimes we learn from looking back, but the future is uncertain and the plans we make today may tomorrow be what brings us into ruin. But living forever at the crossroads, paralyzed into indecision by potential, is no life at all.
This is why we have hope, isn't it?
It's a dark world after all.

The Duchess of Tor. I have known her since we were children and from the time I could make the decision as an adult I have chosen to serve her. She wasn't ever supposed to rule Tor but she has done so effectively and with great skill and dedication. She is an admirable ruler and a fine friend.

I have known Duchess Calista since before I can even remember. We were raised together, grew up together, endured together, and came to Arx together a few years back. I have watched her grow and come into her own and now she rules Tor. It's strange but also fitting. I serve her and I would desire nothing else for my life's path.
