Not going to lie, I was surprised at how organized Master Carver seem to be. I was not sure if I wanted to follow through and join the Physicians' Guild, but spending some time with him at the hospital convinced me this was the right step. Man has that head of his on his shoulders from the looks of it. And I get my own office. See this Lord Commander? I get my own office and damned right I do. Granted, I have absolutely no coin to furnish it.

An associate of Master Belardi. Seemingly a trusted one, which speaks highly for both his character and his competence. My own dealings have thus far been decidedly limited, though I think that it is already safe to say that this barber-surgeon is less polished as a courtier than his colleague. Whether that is a point for or against him is likely to vary depending upon the individuals with whom he deals.

The barber surgeon is very driven and capable of extreme acts of charity. Even acts of kindness. But I wonder at Master Carver's interests and hobbies. Anyone who can grin and eagerly press on when faced with a pit full of rotting bodies has something questionable in their judgment.

Benjamin Carver is my new best friend. I'm not sure if he is aware of such, but it is true even if he disagrees. We have the same focused goals, granted his are a bit different and involve gross things, while mine are nothing but beauty. I worry without my attention he is going to kill himself. I also worry that with my attention, I might kill him.

It's a genuine surprise that I didn't put two and two together when it was mentioned that a surgeon joined the illustrious ranks of the Champions. Suppose I forgot the name and didn't remember the face, which can happen.
Either way, pleased that the man who probably saved my sense of vanity and several important internal organs, is now in my circle. He's a gifted surgeon, or he was ten years ago or so, and his hands look as steady now as they were then.

Master Carver, I met him while at the Ambassador Salon. I was enjoying a drink with my protege and she had mentioned his name to me. She decided to invite him over. It was certainly a good decision. The man is interesting, and he does remind of Acacia, in a very strange way. He apparently is a good a surgeon, as he is a cook. I'll have to get him to cook something I can try sometime, and perhaps I'll reach out to him after the next time I spar.

I don't know if Master Carver is the best or worst name that Benjamin could have. As a surgeon it would not initially instill comfort in me. Yet I found him affable when he sent for me. I could do worse for business partners.

Relationship Note on Benjamin
Sitting across from Master Carver was like drinking with some alter ego of myself -- which is to say entertaining in a slightly disconcerting way. He's observant, Borough careful, and claims experience with the seas and that corresponding knowledge of coming back home. But the steadiness of his hands and eyes, the cut of his wit and how easily he presented it, and maybe just the savoring of the whiskey stood out more for me. I don't know that I'll be showing him my back any time soon, but if he's as good as he claims, he's one to try to keep close.
