When I joined Magnotta as Countess, I was excited for a new adventure. Don't mistake my words, I am still excited for the new adventure that awaits me, I was just talking about my feelings on the wedding day. If I had known what would be available to me since joining this amazing house, I don't think I could have waited to visit Caer Morien or join the house.
My amazing husband has encouraged me to redecorate the house!
I love the transformation. The house was beautiful before, but now it's starting to become stunning. I have looked over reports and histories and am bringing in things that have meaning to the house. It is starting to feel more and more like a home. So much of the family is here in Arx and I am growing in fondness to each and every one of them.

My cousin is home. I'm happy he's home, I simply wish it was under better circumstances. My family has felt a great deal of loss lately and I have no doubt that Artorius will help soothe that with his presence alone as well as helping continue what he started at Magnotta, what has continued, and what will be always be.

I beg your pardon, Count. I would never be so bold as to imply anyone /must/ attend an event. I believe my own event was simply mentioned in passing, as much of my current work involves preparing for it. And you did ask us for advice on what to attend and whose company to seek out in order to catch up with news of the city! I seem to recall warning you about the pace of things here in Arx, and you replied to my warning with an insistence on languor. Now you know, my dear sir, a Whisper's advice is rarely anything but prudently placed.

How does one not feel better after a long talk with my brother? He's the most supportive and cheerful man. I struggle some days to understand how he's a Malvici. He's so generous with his affection and joy. Hardly as grim faced and quick with a flask like the rest of us. It must be raising his daughter that did it. Is that my future? Let us pray it is not. I don't think the city can handle two hugging and forehead kissing Malvici.

Though we had met briefly before, prior to the attack on the River Column of Bringers... I believe this was the first time that Lord Artorius and I have had the time to sit and get to know one another. He is a Knight, and reminds me very much of a Valardin one - which is a compliment, for those who are wondering. Being a Valardin Knight does not mean being stuffy, since I know that is often the stereotype. No, he is kind-hearted and chivalrous and noble. I have promised to help show him and Caelis around Sanctum once we all arrive for the wedding; he will be a most welcome addition to the family.

Lord Artorius is an honorable man who I have entrusted a great deal of responsibility and duty. Over time he has proven himself to be trustworthy and suited to the tasks he's been given. My cousin has faced has faced immense diversity on behalf of House and Compact and as a result I've recently rewarded him for his dedication to duty. He has not been alone in those duties or achievements, but I am slowly working through the list of those who need to be rewarded for their exemplary service. I am quite proud of what he's accomplished thus far and I can only hope for continued health and achievement from him. I believe that he will serve Arbiter exceptionally.

I have decided that I shall become a Knight! Baking really isn't for me, and I think being a Knight will be a lot more exciting!
Artorius gave me my first lesson, and while I am not pleased to admit that I did rather poorly, he was kind enough to not tease me too heartlessly about it. I'm sure with more lessons, I shall become strong soon though!

We lost our parents when I was still so young and I lost him to his wandering and his family once he settled down. Still, so often my dear brother has had to wear the role of father as well for me and I am forever grateful that he is here to nag about my footwork and give me a shoulder when I should need it.

There's little I appreciate more than abject groveling.
Besides, if we are no longer friends, I cannot call him "Artie", and that would be tragic.

Everyone is riding out and it's so alarming. May Gloria bless and keep them.
I met the most charming man, just before he departed. He does seem in every way the soul of modest, knightly virtue. To him a gave a favor, asking that he carry it not only for himself, but for all who are departing to fight so bravely. Would that I had a hundred thousand such tokens.
Now I must go back to reading about axes. And weapon designs and runes and symbols and things.
Because reasons.
Tedious, tedious reasons.
I think I shall ask Lourche to bring all the brandy again. It helps to keep him busy.
