Relationship Note on Arianna
I found myself thinking of Arianna today. Some may be shocked by that. Some may not. I have been thinking of who I was at the start of my time in Arx and who I am now. I have been thinking over conversations that gave me ... enlightenment? Once upon a time, I spent a great deal at the Pravus home when it was located in a different place. There were moments that were placed before me from there and with those that carry that last name. Some of them touched my heart in those conversations. This one though. She led me down a different path that I had planned to start. She led me in some ways where I am now. I just wanted to let people know that every now and again, I still think about her.

Princess Arianna Pravus was a childhood friend of mine. After she was summoned permanently back to help her Stonewood relatives, we grew distant. When she returned to our embrace, there were times we quarreled; we didn't see eye to eye on what was best for Pravus, until we both realized the thing we had in common was that.
Our love for our family.
Many regarded Princess Arianna with disdain, for they did not comprehend the way she approached life, the things she did for our family, for the Compact as a whole, as well as those beyond the shelter of its protection. As the First Knight of Setarco, she broke many chains, and saved many lives without seeking the praise and glory that many would have. She understood the danger of what she did and never for a second shied away from anything necessary.
Whomever is responsible for her death should comprehend how grave a mistake they have made. House Pravus protects their own. It is a lesson those freed of the Saffron Chain, and the Skal'daja alike have learned. It is a thing that makes our enemies fear us.

Princess Arianna Pravus died fighting against agents of the Slaver-Kingdom of Skal'daja, agents she assisted in routing and crippling in the Saffron Chain. The silence of many of those who profess a love for freedom is deafening.
Arianna sacrificed more for the Peers of the Compact, and our beloved people of the Summer Seas, than most will ever know and only a handful could ever hope to match. She inspired her many detractors to cower behind few, whispering voices, while ushering a new age for our Compact.
For many centuries yet to come her fable will be celebrated under the shadow of our ageless Titan in Setarco City. In the end that is all that ever mattered to her: to be home with her family. Today that will be good enough for me as well.

I'm in a bit of continued surprise and disbelief still.
I sit here, an educated and supposedly dispassionate man, searching for the words to document the death of my sister.
In time perhaps I shall come up with something that is more befitting of historical value, but I am at almost a complete loss.
One thing does occur to me, however, and while I (of course ) do not smile at her passing, it does please me to believe that she might have thought this humorous as well, and so I shall record here that thought which entered my otherwise empty mind.
Get well soon.

I was invited to be Princess Arianna's companion for the concert, the one she'd asked for as her boon (and, yes, the song, and the quest. I do not mean to diminish those).
It was a truly exceptional experience. Princess Sorrel and the Bard's College performed in amazing fashion. There will be talk for years about it.
And then the news to wake up to.

Sir Jeffeth and his challenge are a personal matter he undertakes, not an action he takes as representative of the Faith. The Faith does not duel over disputes of theology or the commands of the Gods - the Faith does not offer simply an opinion on the Will of the Gods, the Dominus speaks as Their voice. Beyond question from the children of the Faith. This challenge is a matter between the two of you and your champions. If you have an issue with his behaviour, Sir Jeffeth answers to a Legate and to the Dominus as all of us Godsworn do. He does not answer to a noblewoman, no matter their rank.
You can try to make it something larger, perhaps to cover your own embarassment, that's anyone's right to make these choices. But I would advise against seeking to make grand statements on behalf of Pravus against the Faith unless Archduchess Belladonna is willing to publicly stand by and make them too. And to attempt to create discontent and disquiet as we face the threats we do, well. That would paint an unfortunate picture.

I realize given recent events with Lady Navegant, and also Lady (Archduchess?) Esera, and abundance of other personages wrongfully reported deaths recently, death may seem less permanent than it was before, but I assure, that's not really how this works. If this was a jest at such, it was in rather poor taste.
