Relationship Note on Wash

I recall a few days ago maybe there were some journals circulating about. Fine individuals of the Compact speaking of their heroism.

I'll write about a hero. Lord Wash Kennex. That man is a Compact-wide national treasure, let alone a hero.

Relationship Note on Valerio

An interesting man to say the least. His dedication to duty is admirable and he's able to maintain an unprecedented level of professionalism all the while. He wears his history on his body it would seem and a tale full of torrid details. There's a part of me, deep down, that wants to advise him to move more frequently while he's fighting.

I feel that I should take up painting, even if only in levels that could be labeled strictly amateur. The work of art that I could paint with the egocentric as my inspiration would be interesting to say the least. How does one capture the act of warmongering in artistic form? Something to ponder, no doubt.

Relationship Note on Orazio

I've made it my personal mission to make the Legate of Concepts the best player of Donkey Knights.

Baby steps. I should just try to get him to try it once. Becoming the very best there ever was will have to come afterward.

I'd better begin stockpiling the alcohol for such an occasion.

Plans change.

No, plans don't change. The end game remains the same, only the events leading up to that ending change.

Besides, sometimes changes can be pleasurable opportunities. Exciting, even. Changes present challenges, an opportunity to dig into the past when you know the path it will take, and to truly put your calling to use.

A victory is sweet, but a well executed strategy makes it all the sweeter.

It's always very odd to see someone bring something bearing my mother's signature to my attention so long after she's moved on from this world. I wonder what it is this time.

In the same breath though it's peculiar to question whether my House will uphold oaths and it's own honor. What would someone say? No? I mean, there are of course plenty of stupid people in the world that would impugn their own honor or that of their House in an effort to, I don't know, be able to boast at killing the defenseless? I am thankfully not one of them.

Now to sort out this legal matter and see how I can make it go away expeditiously.

Fear not, eligible bachelors of the Compact. I do not needlessly inflict cruel torments on others.

Relationship Note on Artorius

Lord Artorius is an honorable man who I have entrusted a great deal of responsibility and duty. Over time he has proven himself to be trustworthy and suited to the tasks he's been given. My cousin has faced has faced immense diversity on behalf of House and Compact and as a result I've recently rewarded him for his dedication to duty. He has not been alone in those duties or achievements, but I am slowly working through the list of those who need to be rewarded for their exemplary service. I am quite proud of what he's accomplished thus far and I can only hope for continued health and achievement from him. I believe that he will serve Arbiter exceptionally.

I've recently had tea with a number of the finest individuals the Compact has to offer. Overall the refinement and manners of those in attendance proved to be impeccable and our hostess proved to be purely exquisite. The future queen of the Compact, Lady Symonesse Marin'luna, was a most gracious hostess to her guests and she instilled in me hope for the future alliance between the Compact and the Nox'alfar.

I presented her with a humble gift in welcome to the city and she seemed quite excited to have received it. Striking, delightful, and altogether phenomenal. She surely made an impression on myself and I suspect she'll make one on us all with time!

Efforts for the Arvum Refugee Relief Group continue onward and upward! Busy, busy, busy! It's a rarity for me to have personal time of late, so I instead invest much of my time and effort into matters of business and charity. Thankfully there are a great many people within ARRG that are both supportive and dedicated to helping those in need.

This is a cause that is dear to me and that I will strive, always, to put it before even my own needs.

Though I should possibly take some free time to myself soon! Look into this matter of cornhole that I've heard House Valardin has been feverishly promoting of late. From what I've heard it's a sport that one can really ease themselves into.

Unfortunately I missed a grand event at in Reflection Square, just beyond our very own Southport Square. It wasn't until my return trip home from errands that I discovered that I was walking through a fashion show of some sort. While I was late to the affair and did not linger for long, what I did see was most impressive. Such lavish outfits and exquisite work put into the show, it is my great shame that I was unable to place a bid on something up for auction. Next time, perhaps. A fine gift for a fine person.

I remain convinced that the final dress of the evening, which was admittedly the only one which I witnessed personally, was by far the finest. I do hope next time I'll be present from the beginning!

Relationship Note on Sasha

The newest addition to the staff of the Arvum Refugee Relief Group. I find it amusing that I've discussed her among the echelons of the charity more than I've actually met her. What I have met of her revealed to me exactly what I'd expect of a noble of the Valardins. Proper and polite. A rather friendly lady, I'm sure she will be a great boon to the efforts of The Group on behalf of the refugees which we work with.

Relationship Note on Karadoc

Lord Karadoc is a man capable of great things. He's proven to be an invaluable member of the Arvum Refugee Relief Group. His ability to organize matters, set a goal, and pursue it will be a great asset for the people who are currently under the care of the Group.

He made some waves among the populace during the siege and I'll not claim to have agreed with them. I'll not judge the man for his convictions. He did what he felt was right and pursued that goal. It is that determination that I believe will greatly benefit those in need and I fully expect Lord Karadoc to exceed expectations in ensuring the Group makes the most of the charitable donations which we receive that go toward providing these people the opportunities that they'll need to succeed.

Efforts with the Arvum Refugee Relief Group are well underway and progressing rather smoothly. The few minor incidents which have taken place have been resolved spectacularly by the group functioning as security for those who have sought temporary refuge in Southport Square. House Malvici's own Hawk Guard, the Iron Guard, the Knights of Solace, and all of those who have contributed to the safety of the area have our deepest gratitude.

To those who have volunteered time, silver, or other assets I can say without a doubt that those who find themselves on the receiving end of such generosity and charity do truly appreciate it. To those who are still uncertain whether to offer their assistance with the project? That is a decision that they themselves must make, but for those who do make the decision to offer their time there is plenty of work to be done. People to meet, Houses to petition for aid, permissions to be sought, routes to be planned, and so much more.

Every individual who has volunteered themselves has my gratitude and the gratitude of the many people longing for a fresh chance and brighter future whom they've helped already.

Should one wish to offer their aid, I implore any willing to reach out to Lady Caelis Malvici, Lord Karadoc Saik, or myself to arrange an opportunity to meet and discuss a potential fit. Having some, even vague, notion of what it is you would feel capable of doing on behalf of the refugees would be ideal purely so that we can ensure any relevant internal parties are available to attend the meeting. The charitable pursuits aside, it is an exemplary opportunity to meet new people within the city of Arx and beyond. No matter the House which you swear fealty to, there is work to be done and we can use you.

There are some in the world with more angst than brains. Those who have grown up among the rabble and in piss-filled troughs. They can end up there once more, much quicker than they imagine if they want to try to be passive aggressive. Or they can take a trip back to the House which they came. They're already quite close to it. Savages who don't know when to hold their tongue can end up with their own affairs suddenly brought to a full closure. A sore throat can quickly silence a voice as well.

Relationship Note on Costas

He watches over my sister on the battlefield and beyond, for which I am thankful. He is a man with a particular set of skills of which I believe any household could be well served in possessing. We are very fortunate to have him among us and Master Costas, hopefully, will grow as a result of his time sworn to House Malvici. So may it be until he is old, grizzled, and grey. Or meets an appropriately story-worthy demise. Whichever may come first. Oh, if they happened at the same time? Old, grey, grizzled... he may already be plenty grizzled though, plus a story-worthy ending? That would be a truly wonderful story for the ages, I suspect!

Overall our latest meeting was a good encounter and granted me valuable insight into the way the man thinks. Where he stands on certain social topics as well. It was interesting to say the least and I look forward to future shared discussions. He's also offered himself as a courier of sorts to deliver some matters of interest should I need such. A more personal touch than the average courier when such is needed. He truly is a man of varied skills and interests, which I can respect.

Of late I have not felt fully myself. Now? Now I feel positively grand! I do believe sending that monkey off to face its fate was the ideal situation. When I awoke one morning to find it surreptitiously pouring something into my drink, to say the least I found it peculiar and alarming. Since I held the tribunal to decide the fate of this would-be traitor and sent it off to suffer it's punishment? I've felt fully myself. Oh happy day.

Lesson learned: never trust a monkey to keep it's loyalty. At least I hope it was the monkey. If not? Then I am sorry monkey. Though I do not regret my actions. You were a flight of fancy that should have never been.
