Relationship Note on Eirene

The Lady Eirene has been a font of good advice and even better stories.

I appreciate her visits. And I've been quite fond of her since the very first time we met.

Relationship Note on Eirene

I already knew I liked this foul mouthed southern doctor. First friend I made from the south, can drink like a mule, fight, and doesn't take any shit. Whats not to like?

But damn girl, playing matchmaker too? I swear on every spirit in the world, you're not buying a drink while I'm in the same room as you.

Relationship Note on Eirene

She beat me down, but at least I didn't do too poorly?

I like her. Says what she thinks and stands by it. Arx could do with more with people like her.

Though I think she needs to give herself a bit more credit with things. Still, be more than happy to do that again. Even if I lose. Repeatedly.

Relationship Note on Eirene

Admittedly Lady Eirene may be a little rough, but I do not know a more competent and knowledgeable medic. I find her to be quite stimulating in conversation and I rather like the time spent walking the gardens of Southport Square... even if she somehow manages to bruise me just taking my arm. A good thing she is a medic, I suppose.

Relationship Note on Eirene

Lady Eirene approached me to ask for my help in an upcoming show of arms. She seems like a friendly sort, really. I'm looking forward to the arms exhibition as well.

Relationship Note on Eirene

Don't get me wrong, the Malvici are formidable. But come now. Who can look upon the Palace of Lenosia and not recognize a fortress when they see it, and is warrior-trained?

As if Velenosa would ever allow ourselves to be at the mercy of anyone.

Relationship Note on Eirene

A Malvici noble by blood, but a medic by trade, I find her experiences well suited to dealing with soldiers like me. She is another possible avenue to reconciliation. May the gods protect her in her travels.

Relationship Note on Eirene

By the spirits she is gorgeous. Her looks are only matched by her no nonsense attitude and ability with a sword.

I would dearly like to get to know her better.

As my older brother used to say when he saw a woman he was smitten with, "There goes my future ex-wife."

Though, I feel like I'm only just slightly out of my league.

Relationship Note on Eirene

This woman has more in common with some I've met in sea havens, and on some ships, than anything I've imagined of the nobility.

Firstly, she reeks of booze. Well not reeks really, I happen to like the smell of whiskey and think it goes fine with women but again, nobility. Second, unlike her unreadable niece, there is little room for interpretation of her words. Not to say that all is on the surface. Uncomplicated would fall short of the mark. I suspect this woman is in fact quite complicated. Does she stand off others by nature? I've met some like this. But her way with Calypso did not put me in mind of a simply quarrelsome woman. Of the two times I've seen her one was wearing a dress - well, I add - and much joking was made of it by those familiar with her. I think this distance she puts between her and others is instead similar to the way that some folk keep a conspicuously clean home. Their way of keeping the sight-lines clear round the fort. Some place to exist where the context is comfortable, in their control.

My curiosity is best left at that else I risk incurring it in return.

Relationship Note on Eirene

There are some people who are pared down to their essence, with no room for extraneous frills or flourishes. Even as a much younger woman, Lady Eirene was just such a person, and I always admired her for it.

Meeting her again, I am pleased to say that she remains admirable. Perhaps even more so, with the passing of time. It is good to have her here, come what may.

Relationship Note on Eirene

She can drink and she can fight. Her tolerance for bullshit is low. All in all I am impressed she proves to be a candidate for the "Northern Nights Out" as I have heard them called down here..

Relationship Note on Eirene

Owls. Apparently I remind her of owls. Vaguely fluffy, drifting around quietly and still deadly. After I commented on it, she said they remind her of the legends of elves; the almond eyes, creatures of the night and such.

It was a good discussion. The Princess Natalia had invited us to talk, but was called away. Eirene is more practical than most of the nobility; comes of being a healer, I suppose. Still.

Owls. Really?

Relationship Note on Eirene

Aunt Eirene. My mother's sister. No good military is served with out its medics and there is no stronger woman I can think of to head the Malvici Medics than my Aunt Eirene. She is fierce in all the ways a Raptor should be. Level headed and skilled at her craft. We'll need to keep her from speaking around anyone delicate of course, but I wouldn't have her any other way. I'm glad to have her at my side here in Arx.
