Met the King today. He seems to have the needs of the people in his heart. Still, politicians got to do their politics, and that's more than fair. It's right. I hope the right political move is also the right move for the people.

As a man whose purpose has become helping build a life for the people of the lowers, I've long said that people should just mind themselves and do their works. I don't comment on the lives of nobles. They live in a world beyond mine and, as I learned serving them, there is much responsibility and often little freedom.
The Faith is another matter. The faith if for all of us. Wise people even say that the humanity in the faith is not beyond reproach. I figure it's a team effort here to sort out the Gods plans for us, and how we might honor them.
With that said, I do see that some high and mighty nobles are enjoying themselves insulting members of the faith. Publicly. I don't see how that helps any of us in this time of need. Which God of The Thirteen is it again, who we honor when silks cast about insults? I don't have time to worship much, so I don't know.
What I do know, is that the Faith has room for an Archlector now... in keeping with the behavior of some of the remaining ones, I don't wonder if the Faith will promote one of my children. They would be in good company.
I get to say these things. I'm a low person. No one who matters looks to me for anything. This is the natural way of things. The low people make the low statements and the high people make the high statements.
Archlectors, Nobles, these are the high people. If you continue to make yourselves low, don't be surprised when the low people try to make themselves high. I only have so much of a hand in keeping the peace, so let's not let things get out of hand shall we?
Speaking of Archlectors, I really should try to remember to thank Aureth Greyhope for his help with that thing that one time. They say you can take the man out of the lowers, but you can't take the lowers out of the man, and I'm glad for it in this case. The uh, underclass, as it were, can always use a powerful 'former member' as an ally.

Prince Aiden Grayson has graced me with another set of little animal plushes, and already I've made a sale! I don't get what people see in the little things, but it is a rather cute mouse. Still have plush horses in stock as well!

The animal ears have sold well, and I haven't even advertised! People really do seem to love the Menagerie though. I'll have to work extra hard to keep my branch of the shop there stocked.

Guess I'm expanding. Got a branch up at the Menagerie now, selling leather goods with an animal twist. Pretty little ears! Plushies! Who would have guessed? That Prince Aiden is good people though. Even if he's a silk.

Orathy and the boys stood with me at The Pit today. We fought brave and fought hard, but we're not soldiers. Orathy held his own and more, trying to keep the boys in line at the same time. We lost more than a few. In the end, we won the day, but we won't be able to count on that kind of help again. Work to be done now.

So, there was a brawl down at The Hollows. Been a while since I've seen a good one, or visited for more than a few moments to remind people I'm around. Tonight was a bit different than usual. Full of Silks. None of them acted too high and mighty though, very welcomed considering the venue. And none of us rabble managed to do anything too stupid, which is good. Though apparently a Knight almost ended up getting herself turned into an encore. Which, I'll admit, I'm still thinking might have been good. But that's just the way of things isn't it? We know our rules. They're built into us, from all our lives living down here, we know what we can get away with. What we can't. I suppose some folks don't get that innate sense of what's going across the line. Or maybe they just don't have lines, once there's enough money involved. That'd explain a lot, wouldn't it?
