Often I have thought back to that moment where I made my way onto the ramparts. Many times I have asked myself what would have happened had I chosen to go somewhere else. I'm glad that I did not make a different choice.

I took some time to consider how Duke Laurent might have learned to be quite so skilled at running, and I have come up with the answer!
Obviously, he's been chased by swarms of angry bees far too often. Thank you, bees of Laurent, for conditioning the good Duke so that he could be the fastest man in Arx!

My cousin suggested that Duke Cristoph Laurent and I share a meal and he kindly obliged. It was an interesting evening; the Duke is a man of principle and deep thought. The conversation was charged and I look very much forward to spending more time with him again.

It must have been difficult being stuck behind enemy lines, waiting out the siege and wanting to be there to fight with the rest of us. It's definitely something I can sympathize with. Still, I hope his return to Arx will be productive for him; to that effort, I hope he and Marquis Marius are able to come to an agreement about some hives constructed near the the Wild Grove that in progress. It's a small thing, but they add up.

I know that my ideas on things are different, my lord, but you'll find that if you humor me and allow me to show you my point of view; we will be fast allies. In expanding Lyonesse holdings, we expand yours as well and offer up the Oathlands the opportunity to flourish under the helm of our direction. I hope our upcoming conflict will bear fruit as well, perhaps giving up a much needed victory and vital information.

My brother is as persistent as ever, a never-ending font of ideas and every step needed to transform them into reality. I used to envy him and his abilities, and yet now I have nothing but admiration for his drive and success. I only hope I can live up to what he'll need of me.

I first met the Duke Laurent when he asked the Whisper House to help plan an event for his family. I was so impressed by his charm and his decorum and so pleased that he thought to turn to our House for the Dinner.
