Relationship Note on Nadia
The Duchess of Stonedeep. She's certainly fascinating, beautiful and has a voice that would make any man throw themselves against a mountain in order to hear it. She's a great dancer, and a just as great conversationalist. Her story is also impressive, and I can feel a certain kinship in the fact that we both have experienced great loss and have had to move on. I find myself comfortable, when I speak to her, and that is something that doesn't happen too often at all.

Relationship Note on Victus
I've crossed paths a couple of times with this Thrax lord, and regardless of his brusque demeanor, I find myself taking a liking to him. He is blunt, gruff, but honest in his feelings. There is a grudging respect between us, I've noticed, and I'm sure it has to do with my experience fighting the Abandoned back in the Lyceum. On my end, I can respect his strength and no-nonsense approach to life.

Relationship Note on Belladonna
Her concern for my wellbeing is touching. Belladonna is as beautiful as she is charming. I can't help but admit that whenever we meet, she brings a smile to my face and encourages the good memories I have of the Pravus family to resurface. Her company when indulging on a goblet of wine is certainly welcome.

Relationship Note on Margot
I don't know Lady Margot well. Her story can be tragic or inspiring, depending on how you look at it. I give her credit, for she was more honest about her feelings during her meeting than I thought she would. Then again, said honesty is not always pragmatic. Still, at this point, she is interesting enough that I'm curious to learn more about her.

Relationship Note on Talen
Talen's father was a great man. He was a man that didn't hesitate to save my life, at the cost of his own. His sacrifice will not be forgotten, and in order to honor him I agreed to raise Talen in our household. In many ways, Talen is like a son to me. He is the Sword of the Velenosa, and he does a fine job in that position. He is loyal to a fault, in particular to Esera and he certainly makes for a fine protector of my daughter. Duties made me miss a lot of his childhood, but it pleases me to see the man he has become.

Relationship Note on Viviana
I can't tell how seriously Viviana takes things or not. She laughs too easily, mocks too easily, and seems to treat life like it's some kind of big game, or even joke. Still, I have to believe there's a reason Belladonna made her the Voice of the Pravus family, so I'm willing to see if there's more than jokes and games with this one before I make my mind about her.

Relationship Note on Valencia
Alda's daughter is feisty. I can see why Carlotta thought she might thrive with Redrain. You would think Valencia would see the opportunity there, but I either she doesn't or she likes to pretend she doesn't. I'm admittedly not sure which it is yet. She is shrewd, she is smart, she is passionate though and sometimes prone to rash decisions. Still, she is family, and I do care for her, even if she can't quite see it yet.

Relationship Note on Acacia
Acacia Culler. What to make of her? It's a little too early to tell. She's ambitious, I'll give her that. She's also bold and brazen and those can be useful traits, as long as she's not getting herself killed because of them. She's caught my eye and my attention, which is more than a lot of others have done since my arrival to this city. She has experience as a sailor, and I might have her run shipments for the Velenosa, if she proves to be as skilled as she claims, that is. She definitely shows potential, and I fully intend to develop her into something useful to me and to our family.

Relationship Note on Isolde
Isolde. My Isolde, I wish I understood her better. We all must find our own paths in life, I did and mine led to Carlotta and the Velenosa, Isolde's... it's a little different. But, it is her path and if anything I respect the fact she was brave enough to choose it. She is my daughter, and I love her as such but there are times I wonder if her choices would have been different, if only I... if Carlotta and I had paid more attention to her. But, such musings are pointless. She is who she is, regardless of what others might think of the decisions she has made.

Relationship Note on Esera
I'm proud of Esera, how can I not be? In the short time she's had to rule she's already made difficult decisions, tough decisions. In that, she's so much like her mother. When I pushed most of the rest of the world away? I allowed her in. Still, I worry that as young as she is, there is much for her to learn, so it is up to me to help her, advise her, as I also let her discover who she is. My Carlotta is gone, but she lives still in both Esera and her sister Isolde. She is my blood, and I intend to see her become the great ruler I know her to be.
