Relationship Note on Kael
I know that peacefully turning family responsibilities over to Kael was the correct thing to do, but one cannot help a certain fluttering in the stomach when such things are done. Neither of us had a lifetime of training for the duties we would be asked to undertake, but the possibility always lingered over my life. He seems to flourish here, though. I am pleased to hear of the friendships and connections he has forged. Let us hope that my presence bolsters his confidence in the days to come.

Arriving in Arx for the first time feels like a life's journey and a sudden surprise all at the very same instant. Anticipation and reality so often seem fated to clash in a disappointing murmur, but I have yet to feel that deflating slump of lowered expectations. Everywhere I look there is a splash of color, something new. It seems I may at last have found a place dizzying enough to keep up with my curiosities.
