the children have been ill with sniffles, so I have stayed close to home of late. It happens. They are growing so fast - I don't want to miss spending time with them while I can.

Today's tea was a delicious strawberry tea, fruity and delicate. I quite enjoyed it, even if it wasn't coffee.

The children enjoyed some of the berries, and made a mess of more than they ate. At least they had fun.

The shrine of The Sentinel. Justice.

It is an interesting shrine to spend time at, as I make my little pilgrimage to all the shrines in Arx. I know, I know, I'm very slow at this, but it is still under way. I am finding it very informative, so even if nothing else comes of it, there is that.

I'm learning.

Mapping the Ashford lands always leads to such interesting discussions and finds. I do hope to do more of it. Or at least to have it done, since I suppose I can't go all the time.

Today's tea is a black tea, with hints of chocolate and nuts. Very tasty. Emilie wanted to try it, so she had a small sip. She promptly declared that mommy's drink is icky. I think she may not be a tea drinker, but perhaps it will grow on her.

When she's actually old enough to consider drinking tea.

I love when the work I put into improving our lands and the lives of our people comes to fruition. It's always a lovely thing to witness.

We are going exploring in the Ashford forests. I'm quite excited about it!

I do hope we find something interesting, but perhaps not too dangerous. I'd much prefer to come home in one piece, especially since the children still like to play with their parents.

Somedays it's nice to just stay home with the family and enjoy a bit of quiet time. Maybe I should spend more days like that.

My next bit of time spent reflecting on the gods and what is going on will be at the temple of Limerance.

Fidelity and Love.

During the prayers that happened, while the war was going on and so many were directly in harm's way, I spent time in various shrines, including that of the Queen of Endings. Which reminds me, I do need to talk to Blessed Giada again, as she did offer.

I don't know if it will help, but I can't see that it would hurt, at least not for what I am curious about.

I suppose we shall see. I think eventually I will make my way through this. It's a slow, thoughtful process.

The battle is over, and in many ways our prayers were answered. The cost was high, in terms of lives lost, allies, friends, family. I think probably nobody is untouched, though some have paid higher prices than others.

Each time this is the case. War is not fair, never fair.

But for now, we have a brief peace to regroup, give thank and recover. Thanks to those sacrifices and the blessings of the gods.

I find myself introspective and needing to hug my children more.

Apart from praying, which admittedly I have been doing a lot of, I have had our household busy making bandages and collecting what supplies we thought might be of use to the hospital. Some clothing for those who have lost theirs, some salves and the like where we could buy them.

It has been an activity to bring our family together, working in the Forest Hall.

And today I delivered these supplies with those of the household who were available to the Saving Grace.

I do hope that it will help ease the workload somewhat.

Waiting and praying is not physically hard, though it is mentally draining. I wonder if I should take up medicinal arts and then be able to go help out.

I wonder if Olivia would help teach me.

And here we are again, on the brink of war.

I think I will go to a shrine and pray. Maybe all of them.

The Grayson dinner at House Riven was wonderful. The Rivens have a wonderful cook who entirely outdid herself.

I enjoyed it a lot, and look forward to the next one.

I am looking forward to a romp in the woods, which we will hopefully get to do in the near future. Perhaps we should consider another cow racing party.

I can't believe I just said that.

Harlan and I spent an evening out at the Dancing Feather, a place I'd not been to previously. We met Raven, Blackheart of Pravus there, which was quite entertaining as she spins quite a good tale.

And we danced and danced, until I was dizzy from dancing.

While I do know that things are very serious and war is as ever on the horizon, sometimes it is needed to go do something that we love, to remind us what it is that we are fighting for.

Today's tea is a lovely fruity mix, of apples, berries, peaches and honey. It's warm and fragrant, reminding me that spring will come.

It was delicious, but alas, I fear there's none left, at least until we have fruit once more to make a fresh batch with.

Relationship Note on Sunaia

A belated note on Sunaia and Pasquale's wedding, which has come and gone without much fanfare.

I am very pleased with this match - it seems a good match for both of them, and for our houses.

The wedding was beautiful, and though we will miss Sunaia around House Ashford, we expect she'll be happy in her new home.

Tea at the Jade Moon was lovely and I met Master Aaron Blackburn. That was a delight, he seems quite a nice fellow. I rather wish he worked on clothing for women as much as he does men.

And of course that turns my mind to thinking about the wedding and what shall I wear in honor of Sunaia and Pasquale.

Decisions, decisions.
