I failed to outrun the wind and snow before coming into Arx by sea. I must confess it made for an interesting final approach to the docks but it was well within the capabilities of Osprey's crew.
I have never seen them secure the ship at dock so quickly to get into the warmth though.

Let it be known for the record that I am absolutely thrilled by the upcoming marriages of my brother Lord Martino to Lady Kaia as well as my favourite second cousin Lady Miranda and Lord Dariel.

Southport. The City of Swords. My return here has been a happy one for the most part. The joy felt from holding my daughter Palania in my arms again. The feeling of waking up next to my wife Aahana again. I doubt there is any feeling better than those. My days have been spent attending to duties with the fleet and few things stiffen the backs of the sailors than their Admiral appearing on deck. They know their trade though and after meeting with Captains and Commodores I feel as confident as I ever have done in their capabilities. Captain Antigius challenged me to a spar. I feel he was mildly surprised by the result.

After returning from assisting Prince Jasher with his training exercise I must say I am cautiously optimistic about what we have achieved. The newly released thralls that had joined the navy have made a good, disciplined start.
If only the rest of the Isles would have the same discipline and trust in their fellows then the unrest may not be quite what it is now. Perhaps I am wrong though.

The joy of returning to Southport and seeing my wife Aahana and daughter Palania was tragically cut short at the news of the murder of her uncle Lord Syd Volkov.
Now she is beside herself with worry and grief and I can only pray that the perpertrators are found before Iong.
I may need to return to Arx sooner than I thought.

Two days out of Arx and the sailing goes smoothly. The wind has been at our backs meaning the crew have been able to relax more instead of manning the oars. They, like me, are keen to see the City of Swords again and visit wives, husbands and children they left behind in Southport.
Most of them I have had the honour of serving with and leading for several years now and the crew of the galley Osprey have seen me go from Captain, to Commodore to Admiral of Southport. While on larger scale actions I often command from the flagship dromond Sea Hawk, I must confess it feels more comfortable being back on Osprey.
An albatross was sighted overhead this morning and we sighted the surfacing of a whale shortly after. Good omens for the more superstitious. For me? They are a reminder of how beautiful Mangata's realm truly is.

He may not have continued in the martial pursuits typical of those from Souhport but Messere Alexio has undoubtably found his true calling in his profession of a merchant.
