I am always glad when old friends come back to town. It is like meeting someone knew and yet the depth of an existing relationship is there.

I find myself agreeing with those that speak of the Road as a neutral entity. It did not cause the problems we have, it is merely a tool that those who have anger and ill intentions within them to cause more chaos and pain.
For me, and I am speaking as me and not as my position as Voice within Redreef, this saddens me. As a Compact we are stronger together. We must remember that through this there are larger more shadowy things looking to wreck our connections. We must, now more than ever, remember what makes us similar. What brings us together. What binds us as a society.
Hold on to these truths as we go through this. I urge those that are far more influential than I to remember that. There is always another option to war.

Last night ... what can I say about last night? I was so impressed by the generosity of those that came.
There will be more children allowed to grow up as children. Learning and educated instead of sneaking around looking for hiding spaces for a moment to read.
I am not one for words - I am more for action.

You ever have something to say and you just can't find the right words?
I had an essay to describe my feelings over what I have been reading in the Whites .... the discouragement at seeing how the peerage is seeking to see what divides us instead of what brings us together.
Instead I will state this. It is a summation of maybe a very heart filled essay of bullshit.
I was born a Thrall - the lowest echelon of society.
I became a free commoner - the middle.
I am now ennobled - the top.
Being at all three of these tiers I can tell you that there is always something you trade for something else when you move to the next or different level. Yet that does not make your dedication any less. You learn at every level that your life isn't really your own. You can control different things depending upon the level ... but the basic truth is the same. Either you make the rules or you live by them. Either you are ruled or you are held accountable for all your rulings. In the end it is the same. Our lives are part of a bigger whole. We are a society. We function as one and we need to start thinking of it as such.
With the threats knocking at our door we need to either fight together or die apart.

Ember's okay, a tad on the angry side of life but she's okay. She's a good captain and not a bad fighter. She's stubborn as can be though. I've seen her through the best and worst of life. Both in pretty dresses and drenched in blood. Her blood, my blood, enemy blood... She's frequently wearing some amount of blood.

It has been a long time since I have seen the man and back then I had no idea he was noble. Now I do, which made the first meeting with him here in Arx a bit awkward. Still, we have shared a few drinks and all seems to be well.
