Comedy is difficult.

Not everyone should attempt it.

I should not attempt it.

I did not know Eos as well as many others, but I did have the chance to meet him, and spend weeks with him in Stonedeep. He was a good man, overall.

Let us all pray he makes it to Elysia swiftly, and that we all might find such noble ends.

Another day passes. Another day of uncertainty and trying to fit into a world that does not make much sense to me. It is so much easier out on the road, where saying what you mean and meaning what you say is all that matters.

But maybe that's my mistake. Sophie said about that today. I think, at least. Speak truthfully, and they will understand, or at the least, they will respect the honesty.

Will that work here, in Arx? I suppose I'll find out soon...

With winter coming on and the summer ending, I have begun a drive to obtain extra wool to make warm cloaks for the poor and infirm in the House of Solace. I have sent two sailing men in my employ up the river to gather wool donations from my family's vassals, as they are godly folk who understand the cutting cold.

I met Lydia today after my shift at the House of Solace. Later in the afternoon we were joined by Nadia, and thusly we went to patronize the woman Joscelin, whom has made our signet rings like father had before his disappearance. They are most fine, and have a hammer and mountains on their effacement. Quite fine! And we went to the woman Ida and purchased a fine sword for me, as the work of Stonedeep's blacksmith cannot exceed that of the city's smiths. It is decorated as if it were made of ice, and the quality is fine.

It has been a couple of days since my arrival from Stonedeep with the Knights of Solace. It was so good to see Nadia, and in the Stone Grove of the Redrain Ward I met Prince Darren Redrain and Princess Freja again. It has been long since I made their acquaintance. I also met a sister of mercy there. The southerns enjoy coming thusly and molesting the plants in the grove.

Later I met my youngest sister Lydia in the tavern. She is well and enjoying the southern life. I do not blame her, as northern hardships can make for a dull youth if you do not enjoy ranging and shoveling snow. She begs me to see Grandfather Augustus, and we shall set a date for tea soon, for there are great matters afoot and it has been too long since I've seen him.

I have returned from Stonedeep. The Knights of Solace tasked us with escorting more pilgrims from the North, and so I was attached as a guide. We were attacked along the way by Abandoned brigands. Sir Garthus died. As we could not carry the body for three weeks, he was buried by the side of the road and his grave marked. The shire disciple promised to keep up the grave until a proper monument could be made. Sir Garthus was sworn and had no family, so there are none to inform.

It has been near three months since I have been back to Arx. I look forward to seeing my family. And I look forward to a bath. There is also much prayer to be undertaken. I hope my sisters have been well in my absence.
