I've cast my lot in for this charity tournament, hopefully it will mark the start of my return to prominence. One thing im quickly learning, if i wish to be known, duels won't be enough. With recent events, a skill like myself need branch out.

Its been a while since i've walked through the streets of Arx, my wanderlust taking me far away. It feels both completely familiar, and yet completely alien at the same time, almost as if im looking at the people and places through a fog. I know what they are, but the colors, the memories and relationships that give things such vivid life... they have faded some with time. Still, everything old can be made new again! Relationships rekindled, memories reforged! My name may have fallen off people's lips for now, but i will see to it that it returns once more!

Alas, the threats against this alliance have distracted the nobility from getting too drunk, angering each other, and hiring duelists like myself to resolve their disputes.
I'll never get anywhere sitting on my hands, so I've decided to figure out how to get involved in these conflicts. I'd prefer to be involved in the North, because I hear the need is greater there, but anywhere that I can make a name for myself will suffice. I'll have to continue to reach out to people to find out how I can lend my assistance.

For the most part I agree with most of what the Legate has said. My only difference with him is that it's my desire to free thralls now. And short of helping thralls escape in the dead of night, this is the only thing I could thing of that would free thralls now without risking getting presented to the sea. I think to my own days as a Thrall and how elated I was when I was freed. I don't want people to have too wait for the houses to free them of their own free will (and who knows when that'll happen) feel that elation. Maybe not the smartest strategy in hindsight for ending Thralldom for good, but in the short term it works.
But I'll be canceling my event. My partner in this feels it's prudent and I don't wana die alone on this hill.
I will say I do like his suggestions, and I am not one to let a good idea go to waste. I will be donating all my winnings from The People's Tournament as charitable support to the three houses that no longer have Thralls, Kennex, Blackshore, and Malaries as well as the Liberators. Though it hasn't been announced yet, I suspect I've won first place. So that should be a healthy chunk of coin?

People are silly. Auctioning off a limited time with willing people to other people to perform an activity they both agree too is not selling humans. And what's with "buying thrall debt". Do you expect me to embezzle the money or something? Luckily for every hack with an opinion there are a dozen of people who are willing to give up an evening of their time for a good cause.
To everyone who volunteered, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Now a more interesting criticism is I am rewarding those who have enslaved others with money. And know what? That might be a fair criticism. But I am a bit of a pragmatist at times. I am willing to give the houses money to free people now so that they enjoy their freedom rather them having to wait for the houses to give up their thralls, which may not happen if there is no incentive. I willing to try many different things to give Thralls their well deserved freedom.

Public commentary requested here, what kind of auction would people like to see? Art? Clothing and jewelry? Weapons? A mix of all four? I want to hold an auction to benefit newly freed thralls, but this would be the first time I've ever ran my own auction.

So I have two events scheduled, with a third in the works. The two ones up now will both have trophies for first, second, and third, while the third event will have a prize of silver if Aleksei says yes to using Champion funds. If he doesn't I could fund my own prize, but it'd be a lot smaller. Maybe I could work out some other kind of prize.
With the abolishment of Thralldom approaching and the recent events surrounding it I feel like I need to do something to help smooth along the process. If you have any projects you are working on that could use someone who is good with crowds and good with teaching let me know.

Wait wait wait wait wait. That's not how I understand excommunication. I thought to be excommunicated was to be denied all rites of The Faith and be bared from their lands? I was under the impression that The Abandoned are those who reject the rightful rule of The Crown. I'm pretty sure that hasn't happened in this case. You are still able to trade and deal with the person.

Since coming back to Arx I think about my sister often. I even found myself in her room, reminiscing about the time we spent together. So many things I wish I did differently, so many things still left to be said. I hope to have a child some day, a girl, so I can name her Bashira so that she might inherit her late aunt's wisdom and bravery.

Guess who is back? Back again? Caspian's back. Tell a friend. Yes, I am back. For those who wonder where I went without notice, I embedded with a group of freed thralls to help them get on their feet. Had me deep in the boonies and I haven't really been keeping up on ongoings lately. Someone's going to have to fill me in. I didn't even know my cousin got married not once, but TWICE!

I'm looking for two things. I'm looking for former thralls who would want the chance to speak about thralldom at the Asembly of Peers and a head of house who would give us the chance to speak. If you are in ether of these two camps please reach out to me.
