The Autumn Festival was such great fun. What a wonderful use of an evening. The games were delightful and I came home with some lovely things. I shall remeowmber it fondly.

I am so excited to see Sir Arugula is going to turn stud. Now that I am learning to be quite the horsewoman maybe I can get quite the charger for battle to save my Semiramis for runs that require more stamina. How very exciting! I really must learn more about this horse business! Perhaps my dear friend would be willing to coach me?

Relationship Note on Calypso
She's closer to Lord Artorius in age, but more and more I find it easier to speak to Lady Calypso than my cousins closer in age. She works so very hard for the Compact and gives so much of herself for others. I hope I manage to lead as an admiral with the grace and intelligence she's shown as a general in battles past.

We lost our parents when I was still so young and I lost him to his wandering and his family once he settled down. Still, so often my dear brother has had to wear the role of father as well for me and I am forever grateful that he is here to nag about my footwork and give me a shoulder when I should need it.

Such a warm spirit to her. Every time I've seen her she has always been so full of life and joy. Princess Katarina is truly a gift to Arvum. Needless to say, I deeply enjoyed the party she gave, and getting to see so many ladies and princesses enjoying themselves and laughing in that infectiously joyful energy.

Sparing with my brother is one of my favorite things. There is no better way to catch up or bond than beating each other senseless with blades. I welcome the nights I get to vent to him and hone my skill. There is absolutely nothing wrong with my footwork-for the record. It's meant for ships, obviously.

The Archery contest was wonderful fun to watch. I deeply enjoyed getting to shoot my bow after the Menagerie event the night before. I think there is no better after party than spending time in the training center. More and more I find the to do list is out growing my done list. I should double down and attend less parties, as useful as they are for socializing and networking. I suppose I have friends enough for now. Better to focus where my time is valued.

I think I would like to vacation somewhere for a while once all this business settles down a little. I know the siege ended, but I think I was better rested then. It would be interesting to see other parts of Arvum and not stare at the walls of Arx for a few days. Perhaps a camping trip?

Today I have discovered I am a natural at a certain Valardin sport we all agree needs to be renamed. I was surprised and delighted that this activity proved to be quite instinctual. The body seems to know what it must do. I found the afternoon if brief to be most satisfying. It is a welcome delight in the afternoon to break up the hustle and bustle of the day.

On the Arvum Refugee Relief Group,
I am so honored and humbled by the support we have seen already with the group. I am optimistic that we can see all these people settled and reclaiming their lives again. It's a massive undertaking, and an experience I don't think I'll ever forget. All the fairy tales I read, the stories of the great battles, no one ever mentions all the people displaced. I think if new fairy tales are written, it should be about these people, who fled their homes to survive and have to start new again, remake their lives. They're heroes in my eyes.

I have never spared so long against an opponent or had so close a match! It's surprisingly easy to take up some fun banter with his Grace. It might not be current events, but I like that he appreciates the pranks I play on my brother. And that he's such a fine swordsman, I suppose that is worthy of note as well.

What an incredibly busy day. At least I feel it was productive, educational, and entertaining. All told that is the best anyone can really hope for in a day. I am dreading learning the lance and spear on horseback, but proud too. We don't joust on ships-though perhaps on rafts that could prove amusing-if modified to ensure no one drowns!

Today I took my horse for a walk again. I feel like Semiramis and I are really bonding. I did notice a few odd looks as I walked about with my horse. We must make a fine pair. She's such a beauty with her black coat and mane, I do admit some jealousy, her locks might be glossier than mine. Soon I hope to really stretch our legs and take a long ride out of the city, but in the meantime, I think walking Semiramis is a perfect way to bond.

Promotions do not make social events more bearable. On the bright side, this time I actually danced. I shall count that as progress. Next time I might dance AND strike up conversations, won't that be daring? Perhaps I ought to stick to training rings and tournaments.

It didn't feel right to speak of lose and sacrifice in the battle and then speak of myself. I have worked hard in the Malvici Navy these past years. My Duke has named me his admiral and one of his voices. It is a great honor and I am humbled by his faith in me. As ever I look to my peers and superiors who have taught me invaluable lessons. I hope to learn more and become a leader worthy of the men and women of Southport's navy.
