Relationship Note on Valencia
Took a moment to relax at the Golden Hart before diving back in to my duties at the Shrine now that I've returned to Arx, and was fortunate enough to share a few moments with Princess Valencia. Perhaps it's a sign from Limerance Himself that the first person I meet fairly glows with His light, glimpses of deep compassion and charity clear to me beneath the elegant presentation.

The Masquerade Ball was a hit and if I might add I believe a great success. The masks were fantastic and the hidden identities a great mystery. I hope to attend next time with my own.

Princess, beneath the glinting yellow quartz eyes of the fox mask, was me. Honestly, it was a comfort to assume the role of the creature the mask was fashioned of: clever, confident. All adjectives that I would have used to describe aspects of my own personality once before.

Today, I met a princess. She was a very nice princess at that, not quite as feisty as the princess I saw beat up that other girl. But she was still very nice. Invited me out to a party as well. Could hardly believe me ears at that, a party with me innit? I been to a lot of parties, but I mean a party with other noble types. I hardly ever got to even see the captain's cabin when I was a youngin. Britches were always too filled with the sea water. I'm very excited, she was very pretty.
Maybe I'll get to drink even better wine at a fancier place. I hope.

I met such a lovely person, this evening! Additionally, she's a princess.
I want to be a princess. Or a duchess. It seems in poor taste to wear a tiara, otherwise.
Of course this means I must marry up, up, up.
What an awful lot of effort.
Oh, but the princess! Silk and jewels and all in red -- boots to the thigh and silk stockings above. Dark and alluring and so /kind./ Honestly, the way she was dressed was absolutely scandalous -- but she /was/ born Velenosa. The Lycene are so daring. She said she's a Redrain -- that must have been an interesting transition. She does seem impervious to the cold.
She's very kind.
Oh, it's late. I'm so very tired. I've done a lot of shopping.
Speaking of that, I need to find Ansel and mend things.
Or throw more things at him. I'm not sure.

Princess Valencia Redrain is everything Frederik expects of a Velenosian fox, all smiles and pretty words hiding, Lord Steelhart suspects, ulterior motives. Still, Frederik certainly doesn't see her as an enemy.
