Oh, let us not impugn the use of popularity and social capital to get what one wants. Not all of us are born with riches, or are born the great great great great great grandchild of someone who did something legendary long ago. This is like getting upset at someone using a paddle in a rowboat when you're at the head of a massive barge, with a several yard head start.
You can criticize whether or not someone -deserves- to be popular, but using that popularity is well above board as it's something that's voluntarily given.

As an adherent of Gild, I am proud of my cousin's empathy towards the underprivileged and her fervent defense of charity.
As the Lord Commander of the Iron Guard and servant of the Crown, I naturally disapprove of theft and believe it should be a last resort. Vendors have mouths to feed, as well, and more often than not there are other venues one could use to help that doesn't involve helping one party at the expense of another.
In the few cases where there are no other venues then you do what you must, personal consequences be damned.

I competed in the Melee of the Tournament of Swords and, true to form, took third place. But I had fun.
Contrary to what some may believe, the victor of most free-for-alls aren't the most ferocious, have the shiniest sword or armor, or possess the most renown or fame. In fact, those traits likely get you knocked out first.

All this talk about clothes reminds me of how possessive a certain highborn person is of my completely mundane and average boots.
The one time I let my cousin borrow them he immediately noticed and bought another pair for them so he could get them back... which probably cost ten times the amount they were worth.

The son is now four months old. There is less bodily fluids being emitted, but now everything he touches seems to go straight into his mouth. Sometimes he will hit himself in the face with the toy and cry, giving you a look as if to ask, "Why did you do that, dad?"

I find myself feeling surprise less and less these days. Someone could tell me they once were turned into a newt and I'd probably just offer them my condolences and relief that they returned to their original human state.
