I swear that kitten has it out for me. One would think that fishing it out from water would earn me the slightest amount of favor, but i honestly think the kitten was more annoyed at me for touching him then thankful for saving him.

The valiant few was a marvelous idea and a great success! So many stories of knights both past and present, it was hard to not feel yourself swell with pride. i'm so thankful Princess Terese hosted it! on a side note... that gauntlet bested me THIS time. i have run it 4, maybe 5 times. but this time it finally bested me. next time though.. next time. The bright spot of the whole night was certainly Princess Macda showing me how desperately i need to learn how to find with my hands better. I can do alright in a bar room, swinging chairs and such. But several times now, i've been shown that against a true pugilist i am useless.

I have come to realize that for someone who loves to explore and get out of the city as much as i do.. i spend far to much time walking. Riding and sailing..how have i never bothered to learn how to do these things properly?! Well, im going to see about fixing that. Small goals though right? lets start with not crashing the rowboat in the pond, and not falling off my horse when its standing still..

How quickly we forget, and how slow we move on. Seems many are quick to ignore the lessons we learned not long ago, and the victories achieved. And many more are slow to let go of past grudges, of small slights that bother us still. We should all be slow to forget what history teaches, and quick to let go of past slights. Our turn on the wheel is to short to not learn all we can, and to short to burden with grudges.

Valencia was kind enough to let me help host the Sip n Spar! The turn out was marvelous! fighters and those just coming to watch. it was all i hoped for and more. I hope i can arrange other events and contests with Valencia, to bring people together.

Had you said my first duel back in the city would be about honey, I'd have laughed and said you were crazy. But here we are! honestly, these are the fights i love the most! Its all about the show, the fight, the spectacle! and is anything more spectacular then getting a chance to cross blades with Aleksei! While i can say i'd really rather NOT loose on my first duel back, i can also never complain when i get to learn from him.

Dame kyda finished her challenges today. I never got a chance to spar her again, though i would very much like to. she spoke of possibly sending letters out to those she fought to ask for help. it will be interesting to see who she contacts and who answers the call.

I was able to perform the test for the Society of Explorers for Lady Olivia. I must say, it is far mor enjoyable be the one GIVING the test then the one receiving it. Lady Olivia did outstandingly, as i knew she would. It feels good to be able to usher in new adventurers, to be able to bring others into the society and find new friends with whom to have new adventures!

Bastion. What did i expect when i signed up to re-take that city. To be honest, im not sure, one can never be sure when dealing with the abyss. The horrors they can send at you seem limited only by the imagination. or maybe nightmares is the better word. Massive amalgamations of walking corpses slaughtering men, how else could you describe it? i cant imagine what it was like for the Graysons.. to not only see their loved ones die, but then their bodies used in such. If there was any question as to the pettiness of squabbles we deal with.. then this should lay them rest. I for one, will use this as a reminder that life is short, and we owe it to those who are no longer here to make the most of the time we have.

i rejoined the Society of Explorers! Lou didnt make me retake the tests, which is great... but a part of me would have liked to see how i faired now compared to then. Ah well, things to do and more ways discovered to help!

Three duels in one day. 2 victories, one loss. All provide a lesson to learn, all remind that there is more to master. but everything aside, they were all so much fun!
