Relationship Note on Cullen
Lord Cullen Greenmarch, the new Sword of Greenmarch, asked to join the Gold Order of the Dragon. As he is a knight, and more-over, as he is Lady Niamh's replacement, I could scarce deny him. We are glad to once more have the Greenmarch among our ranks, and hopefully, Lady Niamh is smiling at our efforts from where the Queen of Endings has placed her.

I've been working some more on an Oath for the Gold Order. I'm wanting to incorporate the ideals of all the gods. I wonder if I should talk to some shamans and get a separate oath (or an additional verse?) for those who follow the Spirits. We are a secular order, after all.

I just realised it's been forever and a day since I ran the Gauntlet. I'll have to change that. And ideally deputise someone to score me, to see if I can beat my personal best. Though that's secondary to throwing myself into the fray (metaphorically speaking).

Mistress Valery is a fine teacher, and while our students may admittedly be different, I'm sure the principles will translate just fine. She's also a very skilled gardener, and the teas she brews are quite extraordinary.

In my first steps towards becoming more than nust a soldier, a warrior, and a smith, I'm seeking out tutors to... Teach me how to tutor people. I remember well the training I received from many luminaries of their fields when I first came to Arx, and I look forward to paying that forward.
In other news, that means I'm looking for good teachers. If anyone has services to offer, I'm sure they know how to reach me if they're reading my whites.

I wasn't able to make it to the Grayson Ceremony celebrating the victory in the recent war, but I nonetheless received a small parcel containing some tokens from Princess Reese. I am ever grateful. And I wish I'd been there.

I heard that the Legate of Concepts and several other high-ranking people went on a pilgrimage of sorts through the Oathlands. It makes me me proud - we have ever been the heartlands of the faith, and from what I hear, the trip was successful and brought people together, too.

There's something comforting about the heat of a forge, be it blazing at your back, or glaring at your front. The rhythm of the metal as you coax out what the steel before you wishes to be. That's when I truly find peace. That's where I lose myself.

The Marquessa has tasked myself and Lady Desiree with finding the means and the people to refill the ranks of the Wyrmguard armies after the battle at Setarco. I'm given to understand the sheer number of people and the money involved in outfitting them is quite... Large.

It's good to be able to breathe again, back in Arx. The war taught me a lot of things - and I'm going to do my best to move on and be more than just a soldier. Duke Arn, as I've said before was right. To be a Champion of a House is to be more than a fighter. I neglected that for a long while.

I've appointed Princess Echo as my second in the Gold Order, in the hopes that a fellow knight - especially one so renowned for her swordwork - may aid me in executing our goals and making Lady Niamh proud. She was close to Lady Eirlys, so now we've two people fond of the Greenmarch heading up the chapter.
She has skills I do not, and comes from a very different background. That will have any number of uses, I'm sure.

I can't claim to have know Lady Eirlys as well as I knew the Lady Niamh or Lady Neve. But we had met. And I respected her. And from what I've been told, she was responsible for grave losses among the enemy, even as, in her death, the enemy was responsible for a grave loss of our own.
Sounds like the Greenmarch way, to grasp victory even in death and defeat.
May the Queen of Endings accept her like the hero she was, and the Mother send her off to a new beginning.

A debt was fulfilled to me this week, and I am glad of it. A lord who leaves behind his family to seek his own fortune can earn ill-founded rumours, and I will shamefully admit that I did worry. What if the payment was reneged? What if I brought the loan contract to his family and they refused me, citing that he'd left their embrace.
I'm glad that my worries were unfounded and that honour remains stronger than steel in Oathlanders - even if they leave the Oathlands behind.
