Lady Brianna, poor dear, has been under the weather lately. I'm not known for having the best bedside manner, but she seems to be coming around and it shouldn't be long before she's back in the social swing of things. She's no Lydia, I'm not expecting her to be any good at braiding my hair, and she's certainly no Nadia - the idea of her sitting through a polite conversation is laughable. But she's Brianna, and that's good enough for me.

Brianna is Vercyn's daughter, and it shows. She's got a sense of elegance about her even when she's at her Northern wildest, though it is telling that her clothes are always immaculate and there never seem to be any twigs in her hair. A true Northerner, with a hint of the south. I can appreciate that.

I've invited Brianna to stay with me at the Redrain Villa, where I'll be better able to guide her in the ways of the courtier. She's already friendly enough, sometimes to am excess, but there are finer points of etiquette and deportment that could use some work and if I have her trapped in the Redrain estate for a time, it'll be that much harder for her to duck my lessons.

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. No good fucking deed goes unpunished, like doing this wild little Halfshav the favor of her fucking life. She's a storm, alright. The sort any man might be tempted to ride into just to test how strong her winds might blow. How about kicking off the habit of calling me the Bastard Lord, though, eh? It makes me want to rip her fucking throat out. Other than that I genuinely started to appreciate her company.

I haven't seen her around the villa since word came of the king's condition. The poor girl is probably beside herself with grief, everyone knows that she and Alaric IV were nigh inseperable before his marriage, and now this. I should reach out to her in some way, but how do you broach the topic of the death of someone's since-married ex-suitor? Carefully, when they're as violently inclined as Brianna Halfshav.

She has a fair bit of skill for someone untested. I'll admit that I generally don't mind being tackled to the ground if I get to look up at that kind of view, either. Heh. Leave the fuck off the nicknames, though. Whoever ends up married to her is probably going to be driven insane and wrestle a bear just to get away for a bit.

I first encountered Brianna in the Ambassador where she proudly announced to Valencia that she could 'take me.' I'm sceptical of the claim but do admit I'm slightly wary to face her in the dueling arena, I hear Northerners bite and you can catch all sorts of nasty things from that.

An introduction that involves breaking your own man's nose is something I'm unlikely to forget. Does she have to be so tall, though? I mean, really, it's one thing to look up at a tall man, but quite another to have to crane the neck for another woman.

Still think a woman being a fighter is a waste of a woman. Fighters die. Fighters have pieces of themselves cut off, inside and out. Take a sword to your face and see how pretty it looks afterwards. Still, I'll give the girl has some fire in her, and might be interesting to cross weapons with a woman. Just to see how it feels. Hm. I've been beaten by smaller men before, don't think I'd enjoy being beaten by a girl. Let's not lose any spars against her.

Relationship Note on Brianna
It's easy to love how laid-back Brianna is, every conversation is an exercise in probing for the boundaries of her copious amounts of patience. It can be hard to find much in the way of intrigue in the North, perhaps being in Arx will provide more opportunities for me to find out just what makes this flame-haired wildling tick.
