I received worrisome news from my childhood friend today, frightening really - I don't know how else to feel when a friend asks if I have guards with me when I leave the keep. I don't know the full details, but he agreed to come and speak with Orvyn and Ouida about this. They will know what to do.

I have spoken with several people about my new charitable idea, and have received encouraging feedback. People seem intrigued, and are interested in what they can do to support such a school. My dear Orvyn has given me his blessing to try this little experiment of mine in Fair Harbour.

It's been a busy week! I've met new faces and said hello to old friends.
I did run into Bree earlier this week - she is as chipper as ever! And has grown in skill as a Knight - she does Harthall proud. But I do wonder if I'm going to have a cousin-in-law sooner than I ever expected!
I also managed to spend some time with my dear friend Adelyn; now only to meet her new husband.

I'm finally home. Not that Fair Harbour isn't home, of course, but to be back with Orvyn again after so many years is something special. Seeing him again, it was almost as if no time had passed. It's reassuring to know that we are still standing side by side, looking to the future with an eye to helping others. I've been in Arx less than a day, and already I've plans in motion for our next endeavor.

Relationship Note on Ouida
My dear sweet, sister, in law as she may be has proven herself adept at adapting to Arx. I think we all miss Fair Harbour but she has taken to the city with such aplomb I could not be more proud. She has been a boon to myself and her brother, one can say that the Sword of our house has more than the right amount of compassion and intelligence to wield it.
I know for certain she will only wield it when time calls for it and never before. Daily she wields her charm and of that Harthall has an abundance and she a glorious flower amongst the garden to help it shine in different seasons when the others have faded.
Ouida will only serve to help us rise and I will be glad to stand beside her.

Relationship Note on Alarissa
Returning to Arx has been a test in reacquainting myself with the day to day. The truly most joyous things were seeing the family having mostly gathered in support of Harthall's place in the city and that of meeting with the Princess Alarissa Thrax. Her little family has grown and is still growing. Harthall is lucky to have in her an trusted ally and I a friend.
I look forward to her little ones coming to visit at the Keep. I will need to be certain to have the courtyard prepped for the arrival and move the possibly poisonous plants up and into raised containers. I have seen how eagerly they dig into things.

Relationship Note on Orvyn
I have returned from Fair Harbour to find that Harthall has found its pace in the onward march of the city. I am proud of my family for all the work they have done and look forward to help establish further safe havens for those that seek it in our lands.

I have most recently been pleasantly surprised by a recent dinner we had with the Marquis and Marquessa Mazetti. It pleases me that the disagreements of our ancestors can be set aside in pursuit of bettering relations and finding common ground. We are after all living breathing beings with the same needs. I look forward to when we dine again.

The Princess Alarissa Thrax has given us a great welcome gift that will grace the courtyard of our home and mean so very much to us in its completion. It was not only generous but a grand gesture that the Marquis and I shall never forget and are not like to when Baroness Skye has completed her work.
What a grand thing she has planned, beyond even that which we originally envisioned.

Relationship Note on Orvyn
My heart, how different Arx is. Far more opportunities and efforts to aid others can be found here but I miss the scent of the sea from the Keep windows and likewise the rolling hills of the isle. But there are things I am sure I will come to love here and treasure all the more.
May our family grow and prosper beneath Gild and Lagoma and may we continue to bring prosperity to Harthall with Mangata's blessing. I am looking forward to that which we can make together here.

The restoration of Harthall Keep is well underway but there are a great many things have yet to be tended to. A new central fountain, new flower beds for the courtyard, the upkeep and repainting of both walls and replacement of old sconces that have rusted for far too long. That is merely the courtyard and not the vast amount of other rooms that run the entirety of the upper and lower floor.
Needless to say that managing this household is quiet exhausting but has proven to be a grand distraction from the transition off the island into something more landlocked. I do miss the gulls and the smell of brine readily on the air in the morning. Though I am hoping the planting of honeysuckle vines will offer a new scent for my memory to cling to.
