Planning a play date for the children is a joy. I look forward to hearing their laughter and tiring them out so they sleep all night.

I've been helping friends with some research and I find it is just as satisfying as doing my own research. It's nice to help others and learn at the same time.

I have been remiss writing my journals lately. I suppose I should fix that. I just feel like I've nothing to say. With all that is going on, it leaves me somewhat speechless. I shall however try.

I did have some interesting conversations this week, enjoying my usual trip to the hall of Heroes. It made me sad a little, and reflective, as it seems a good friend may one day be memorialized there.

And thus, back I go again to speechless.

With everything going on, I believe I shall make time to go to the shrine of Aion and pray.

Does anyone have any good teas to suggest? I would like to try something different than my usual. But not something terrible or a joke. A real tea.

Today's tea is a gentle jasmine with hints of other spices. It's quite delicious and I am enjoying it.

Occasionally I see an interesting journal entry or Bigsby brings one to my attention.

Triangles vs Squares?

I am amused, but not sure I have an opinion on this one.

A diplomatic mission may not succeed on first try. But so long as one survives the attempt, there may always be a future attempt.

Of course, it may also be more difficult, depending on why the first attempt failed.

There. My words of wisdom for today, may they provide assistance to someone out there.

Today's tea is a refreshing chamomile with hints of apple. It's quite delicious and goes well with scones and cream.
.
Or ginger cake.

Then again, everything goes well with ginger cake

It is official - I am terrible at firing a toy catapult.

On the other hand, it was a very fun event, and I do hope Carnifex Preston appreciated his birthday party. Dominus Aureth as usual put on quite a gathering. I don't think I've ever seen quite so many custard tarts in one place before.

They were very delicious. The children thoroughly enjoyed the outing, and we all survived. An excellent day!

You know, it's an interesting thing to consider improving one's armour. I still have the leather armour that Liliana designed for and had made for me. It's lovely, but it's very Farshaw. And it's probably well past time for an improved set. Maybe Oakhide. I shall have to look into that.

Visiting the Hall of Heroes, I found myself again thinking about Copper and all she did for us.

I would like to be able to do even a hundredth of all she did.

Every day there are messengers, some indifferent, some eager. Each bearing a missive of some kind from someone - an acquaintance, a friend, family, someone wishing to learn something or to share some information they have found. Each a treasure in its own way, something I continue to cherish. The details themselves are too small to record here - and gods forbid I should write one of those books that detail every last penny spent over decades - reading so dry it sends me looking for today's cup of tea without even opening a book.

And yet, sometimes out of those very dry and unassuming books, we glean information on the past, something that we did not know before or had forgotten.

Those are moments worth treasuring.

Crumble is a big hit with the children, though I fear the laundry staff may quit. Somehow they did manage to get the cake out of my dress though. I'm not going to ask how.

I am quite certain that I managed to startle Harlan the other day. Not by coming home with some cake on my outfit - i am fairly certain that has happened before.

Yes, well, we do like events that involve cake, after all, here in Arx.

in any event, it was far more that I brought home a puppy. me. A puppy.

Crumble the Catastrophic Monster - son of Toffee. Or something like that. My name is not anywhere near as wonderful as the Queen's though. And that is just as it should be.

There are times when it is lovely to sit in the orangery and enjoy the lovely ambiance. At least until the air is broken by the joyful laughter and playing of children. Then it's more than lovely - it's beautiful.

Today's tea is a fragrant rosehip and citrus which smells as good as it tastes. Of course, it's nearly a dessert all on its own, but that should only count in its favour. Shouldn't it?

Today's tea was coffee. For something different. Equally tasty, but definitely not the same thing. Coffee with chocolate and cream is sweetly delicious.

Today's tea is a long time favourite. Lemon Lavender. It reminds me of my early days in Arx, visiting the Mercier Tea Shop.
