You forgot to mention the part where half the people below decided to run up said burning stairs, rather than doing the smart thing and getting out of the burning building. I'm sure Baron Norwood will be ecstatic to learn that bit, and which half it was.
I value our friendship, and I've come to think of you as part of my own family, but I have to say I'd feel so very much better if I was the one doing the amazingly foolish bits, and you were instead using your head.

The Duke calling me 'Uncle Kedehern' still feels odd to me, since I really view him more as a cousin, so I certainly understand your troubles with the sudden gaggle of nieces and nephews our marriage has bestowed you with.
I'm just glad Marquis Kael is your cousin, not a nephew. Having another Head of House calling me 'Uncle' might almost be too much. Though at least the Marquis is my junior, as opposed to Duke Cristoph, who's seven years my senior.

Things seem to be moving again. Preparations for our trip to the Shadowood are nearly complete, though it's a shame that Lady Amari can no longer join our party at this time. Still, she'll be good company for Shae and myself on our other trip, to the north.

It feels wonderful to finally be married, rather than betrothed. The ceremony took place in Oakhaven, and now we're taking a short trip to the family home in Artshall and the surrounding lands to celebrate, passing through Duskshire on our way.

A brisk winter jaunt, 'ambush', and encampment and I'm now a part of the Society of Explorers along with Shae and her cousin, Lady Amari. I think all three of us are looking forward to not just the rigors ahead, but hoping to learn more about the studies of interest that we've recently been delving into.
