Relationship Note on Joscelin
I am ever grateful for the brilliant artisans of Arx, who take my ideas and turn them into reality - a reality even better than what I envisioned. They are treasures, all of them. My very favourites are Mistress Joscelin at the Atelier Joscelin, Mistress Josephine at the Velvet Box, and Mistress Aurora at the Costumer's Closet. They have earned my loyalty through their hard work and generosity both.

The Lantern Lighting ceremony was particularly lovely, though it did involve more writing than I was expecting. Duskstone looks magnificent in shifting lantern light! Clearly, I made the right choice accessorizing. It's always good to see Princess Elgana, and I made a few other new acquaintances as well.

I've decided to finally follow up on a trail from a bit of information in the Bard College's collection. I've seen how the bards can spread songs; now it's time to see how well they can collect information on a particular obscure subject. The effort required to set this into motion has been far more than I ever would have expected. I hope I'm not wasting everyone's time.

Relationship Note on Sorina
I was very pleased to discover Miss Sorina Bianchi sent me one of her creations. It's a lovely under-bust corset belt with shining coppery scales. I like to run my hand over them. I need to wear it before summer comes, because metal is just unpleasant in the heat.

A successful opening night is so satisfying. Everyone performed beautifully, and The Good Duke of Gemecitta was, of course, a rousing success. My patron, Prince Niklas Grayson, is an astounding talent.

Is this strange snow going to do something to my boots? It stings the skin, and leather is skin, and I quite like my boots. Particularly my tall boots, which are still rather new. If they become discoloured, I shall be very annoyed; the same with regards to my cloaks and clothing.

I'll have to plan some more jewelry around this lovely necklace I won at Aion's Grand Melee. I don't have any other neodymium, though I do have some champagne silver. I've been meaning to see about some pearls, too, so this is very fortunate. Absolutely lovely.

I have made mention in the past of a certain encounter that occurred very soon after I first arrived in Arx.
I was at the Spirits tavern in the Redrain Ward when I was asked if I would sing a song of sixbits and a pocket full of rye by a particular Captain from House Kennex. I wasn't sure about the audience, but I do like a challenge, and so I did.
I sang the song in as sultry a manner I could manage and a curmudgeonly prince said one word to me: 'lovely'. Then he casually threw me a coin purse with more silver than I had ever seen in my life up until that point.
I used that money - five thousand silver - to buy myself a red silk dress and matching shoes and jewelry so that I might be more welcome in the sorts of establishments the nobility favours. It was a very fetching dress and I still wear it from time to time.
His generous gift helped me immensely on my upward climb from being a poor bard in the Lowers to a comfortable courtier with the resources to establish a Bard's College. It quite literally changed my life.
I will always be grateful to Prince Gareth for that.

The beer festival went well. The mood was subdued at first, though the more beer people drank, the looser they got. The dancing began in earnest. Such is the power of music: the power to change a mood, to stir emotion. To make it a little easier to forget, at least for a time, a heavy load.
I sang very little; mostly, I was occupied with my vielle. The other bards with me performed well; I am happy with the College's progress.

The grand opening concert of the College was a success, drawing visitors from Arx and beyond. I'm proud of the bards; they performed well. The Bard's College will only gain more prestige from here on out.

A new project for the College has finally begun: the gathering of lore.
Many songs, poems, and other knowledge have been lost over the years; the College seeks to preserve and renew interest in such things. If you've music-related lore, we would love to talk to you so we can add to our collection. We'll be reaching out to the Scholars as well.

The Bard's College will be opening to the public tonight. Come for a concert, featuring myself and other talents, and stay after for the celebration.
I'm so proud of what we've accomplished. The building is beautiful. Be sure to look at the mosaic on the floor; there's always some new detail to notice.
